I always thought that the NFL HOF voters were a bit more mature than the MLB voters, who routinely use emotion rather than logic to vote in players. Omitting Belichick, who’s arguably the most distinguished coach in history, is purely emotional. Would love to see people who miss these common sense moments lose their voting privileges

Gotta admit I know there is quite a bit of Patriot hate.

But him not being a first ballot HOFer is a bit ludicrous.

If he isn’t I don’t know what is.

agree. as one who is in possession of truckloads of Patriot angst... If Bill Bilichek aint a Hall of Fame coach then whodafuq is??
and if he surely is, why play games with his induction?

my only thought is that possibly it came down to Bill, or some great blast from the past who is getting his last chance at induction this year??
I dunno.... but stiff arming Bill really lowers any credibility Canton has left.

Bill Polian lead the charge to punish BB. He made it personal. He's a dick.

shouldn’t matter
But it does... iirc you have to be like 7 years post retirement from the league in order to qualify.

On the other hand...if he meets qualifications he should be in without regards to what "might" happen in a year or two.

I tend to agree, but was just trying to fathom why they wouldnt put him in. Other useless thought; He never won anything without Brady? I know I know...

To be fair, Brady never won anything without being on the best team in the worst division in the league

5 years which he meets the requirements. If he decides to come back later and already in the HOF it matters none. He's worthy regardless.

Actually the standard for a coach must be different his last year coaching the Pats was 2023.. So must just be players?

Aren't these voters mostly press/media? They are probably still salty. NFL losing a fair amount of respect. Can't talk about NFL without talking about BB. Probably has more knowledge of the game/history than all of them combined.

Won't stop the money flow, so on to San Francisco (Santa Clara for you nitpicking ninnies)
