Hopefully it's nothing more than a gash and some bruising. He is a key piece of the back three and on set pieces. I think it would be worse to lose Richards than Adams. I think the depth in the mid is far greater than in the back.

Luna as a bubble seems silly to me. He adds a spark every time he steps on the field. I also think Berhalter has better than a 50/50 chance to be rostered.
I think Luna is definitely a guy to have on the bench. he reminds me of Clint Mathis. he's a guy who won't be fazed by the moment, if anything he will raise his game. I really like the depth of this squad. and they appear to have improved in their weak areas from the last World Cup, center back and striker. of corse they could put pulisic up front as well if they wanted to with the plethora of attacking options that they would have behind him. not sure about Reyna, he has been very inconsistent. he could be left off, but I would love to see him reach his potential. I do hope that berhalter finds a place and I really think Patrick Agyemang should be in over Haji Wright.

If I were picking the roster today I would leave reyna out and put luna on. I would also probably swap zendejas with tillman, but that's a close one. I would also consider putting reyna over one of those two.

I would remove Haji Wright and put someone else there. but I think balogun and Pepi will get most of the playing time anyway.

I think our biggest problem is at keeper, where we don't have the traditional US stopper. Also, Tim Ream continuing to start is a worry.
As much as I like Ream, he worries me. I could easily see teams taking advantage of his lack of speed in the back. We've seen it before. I think Pochettino likes his leadership and his experience. I hope Pochettino comes up with a plan to mask Ream's vulnerability.

Cristiano Ronaldo (right hamstring injury) will miss Portugal's World Cup warm-up games against Team USA on March 31 in Atlanta, as well as against Mexico three days earlier at Estadio Azteca.

Ronaldo, 41, has undergone treatment in Madrid in the past two weeks.

The reason Ream is there is because of his ball skills. he can play out of the back. when you combine the issue at keeper, ream and the other defenders really can't lack ball skills. we saw this as a major problem in the last World Cup that crippled the rest of the team. we saw that the defender who was patterned with ream could not play the ball up and essentially is worthless in a game vs. a top level team. for keeper, it's not just lacking a stopper, but it's not having someone that can pass the ball out of the back. it used to be the our strength in prior world cups as seen on display with Donovans goal against Algeria. Tim Howard ignited the attack. that is just a simple illustration, but we need a keeper that can strike the ball long to his defense and we don't have one.

I agree with the reasons Ream is there, however you can't ignore his liability when a team gets a quick counterattack going. That is when Ream puts a lot of pressure on the keeper as he lacks enough speed to get back all the time.

In my 25 years of coaching I have always placed a high importance on my backs having very good to excellent ball skills. It was always important that they could stay composed under pressure and have the ability to start a counter attack or a offensive build up out of the back, not just send the ball aimlessly up field hoping something good will happen.
