25% of NFL team fired their coaches so far...

There might be another one after this week.

I don't have the exact math but I think that is around 24-25 out of 32 fired (some team more than once) in the past 3 years?

Honestly, the Raiders are the organization, I don’t know why any coach would go to? They have literally fired their head coach after one year for four years running. If I were gonna go there, I would want a minimum five-year contract that way he’s gotta pay me for another four years after. No stability at all.

I like Mike, not as a coach, but as a sound bite. This is AI, but it feels real

If the Cardinals are moving forward without Kyler, they should be on the phone ASAP with the Vikings owner & new GM.

The Vikings currently have the worst cap situation for 2026 of pretty much any team. They are currently $49M in the red so squeezing Kyler and his cap hit onto their roster would be a challenge.

The Vikings just signed the GM to a multi-year extension last year. Wow.

Which is interesting because the Vikings are often regarded as one of the top franchises of the NFL in terms of front office, coaching, facilities, stability, etc. This is pretty wild.

Oh, the irony of this thread's title. Black Monday 2026

According to the Associated Press, it’s the fifth time no Black head coaches were hired during a hiring cycle since the Rooney Rule was implemented.

10 openings. All coaching positions filled. 9 white guys and Robert Saleh.

The NFL enters 2026 with only three Black head coaches. Todd Bowles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Aaron Glenn with the New York Jets, and DeMeco Ryans with the Houston Texans.
