I’m taking the chance with him at 3. I don’t care. And no I’m not trading back to do it because no one has given a reason as to why a team would trade up in this class, yet.
Over Reese?? Nah.

It makes sense for him to come out. He's most likely the #3 QB this year....he probably would not be that high next year.

I could see him going to Miami or Cincy if they trade Burrow

My question is he better than all the other's like Nussmeir of LSU etc who has more expierence Ime kinda liking him and probably wouldnt need a trade
Let’s see what they do between now and the draft. Also want to see if Nussmeier is fully recovered.

Still a hard pass for me. Late first maybe but I don't even think he's that good. If you're picking 3rd and you take a QB he has to start from day 1, nobody thinks Simpson is going to do that.

he won't be bad but I doubt he'll be great

i said it repeatedly it's why I wanted Bosa. In hindsight though Rosen was never going to be any good. Kyler wasn't HIM but he was way better than Josh
Damned near got banned for speaking out against Murray in fact kinda proven Right in the end my leaning this year is Nussmeir from LSU dont know why he just kinda has that Warner look to me would be awesome if he is as good

Read where AJ Mcarren said Simpson is likely a 4th or 5th round pick not that it matters much

We rarely agree, but as of where we stand today, I think I would too.

QBs skyrocket up the board. If we hadn't kinda lucked out into the #3 pick, I think it'd be palatable for people at #5-10.

Trading back or counting on trading up without any other QB options at your disposal is a big risk.

To be clear he may wind up a good NFL QB I just don't believe he's going to be a star and I'm very skeptical because played so little.

I saw someone say Tom Brady only threw 100 more passes in college and he was 22 himself. And Brady had played in 29 games, way more than Simpson. and Brady was 6th round pick, he turned out to be the GOAT but doesn't mean SImpson

I wouldn't hate us getting him, but if we pick him at 3 I won't like it

I’d be disappointed if this is the pick at #3. The way he and Alabama faded late in the season against good teams is a major red flag to me.

If Simpson went back to Bama he’d be a top-5 pick in 2027. The throws he was making early on are NFL throws but he declined when defenses figured out their offense. I still like him but we have to develop him patiently and perfectly.

I'd rather take him in the 2nd round before taking Simpson with the 3rd pick, even Allar from Penn St would be worth a look in the 2nd round, he's 6'5" & can definitely see the middle of the field.

As long as we don't take him in the 1st. I hate coaches taking swings on developmental quarterbacks early. They usually stink, or need 3-4 years. But no one will wait that long or accept that they were probably going to be bad no matter what. By year 2 when he's still bad and the team is losing every game, no one is going to be patient, it will be "no excuses".

Then it will be finger pointing for "starting him too soon" if he starts in year 1. Or finger pointing for "not giving him enough reps" if he didn't start game 1. All while refusing to acknowledge that he's probably just bad and shouldn't be an NFL QB, or that at best he will be bad for years.

Noooo, its the coaches fault. Why couldnt they fix him? Sure there's only 18 people in the entire world that qualify as a real franchise QB, but obviously any real coach would have turned this awful prospect into "the guy". They took a swing on a developmental guy and he wasnt the franchise savior year 2-3, obviously the entire staff is incompetent!!!

Guys who have started as few games as Simpson have in college are never good. The main exception is Cam Newton, who was a supreme, obvious talent, that dominated every game he played in college.

Last tankathon mock I seen has us taking Nussmeir in the 3rd that would be perfect for me

Yuck...

That guy I watched in the Rose Bowl did not look remotely like an NFL prospect.

He's not a runner, he's not a downfield guy, he's not particularly accurate, he's 23 years old... if he didn't play for Alabama would we know who he is?

This is not the year to draft the #3 QB in a weak class.

2027 is the year, much better class and there will be 2x to 3x more options.

If there is anything we should have learned, you don't reach for a position of need. You draft the BPA
