I’d suspect they asked Gannon to make big staff changes and he said no.

Three and out at a dysfunctional organization and he’s still possibly hireable as a HC again if he has another good run as a DC somewhere (see Kliff last year getting interviews) but longer it would’ve dragged without winning the lower those odds.
I think he probably wanted to keep his buddy Rallis as DC & either Monti, Bidwill or both was having none of it considering the poor performances & passive conservative approach they took week in week out.

God help us all if that’s the only reason he got fired.

Really surprised you're so tough on Monti. It was mostly a JG problem in Arizona.

Now that he's gone we can get the train back on the tracks. We have talent. Still need a QB, but new coach at least gives us a shot.
At least we didn't see Monti with his arms crossed doing nothing, however, if he had his arms crossed in his office during the losing streak, he should also be fired lol. Joking obviously but that part of JG got on my last nerve.

All this in conjecture and conspiracy theories. Now Wolf is talking about the Demercado incident is when EVERYTHING went south.
Theres also moving away from Kyler which lost half the locker room. I would say ask Wilson and McBride what they thought.
Losing Klayton Adams and changing the entire o-line philosophy.

Good defensive coordinators don't blitz a lot unless they have lock down corners play man. Soft zone leaving the underneath open is what everyone is running.

We're getting a new defensive coordinator but the defensive approach will probably be very similar. I dont understand why so many fans are obsessed with blitzing.

Of course. God help us all if Gannon is the only reason Kyler got benched too.

It’s not only that. When you’re playing zone your db’s and lb’s have to close on opponents moving into your zone.
We appear to play it safe.

Monti needed to go too!

The staff was in over their heads, but roster talent level not being where it needs to be is on Monti. At least we had cap space.

Kyle should take the win that JG is gone and let us properly judge Monti next year (couple years)

On the flip side, Monti might feel the need to make a huge splash in getting "The Guy" at QB. That could be a big trade up for Mendoza, which comes with the baked in bonus of buying him more time. I'll take that, at least.

Also, my new nickname for him is M0nti 0ssenf0rt.

Four years in and we might as well be at ground 0.

The Bidwills have gone back and forth with their approaches for decades now. They are clueless. The best we can hope for is getting lucky for a few years…..Coryell, Whiz, Arians. Such a sad state of affairs being a lifetime Cardinal fan.
Coryell was the HC when they became my team, then the ignorant ass Bidwill fired him & brought in Bud Wilkinson best I remember.

Ugh....keeping Monti :(

I have less than zero faith in him picking the next HC and QBOF
We had posters wanting Simpson to be our QB. And, I forget who they are but, I'm guessing they don't want Monti picking a coach. As they say, you can't make this stuff up.

Yeah the WRs had to be complaining about Kyler. Wilson was #3 to start the year behind MHJ and Dortch, and the rub on McBride was that he couldn’t catch TDs.
