Yeah. I don’t know that I would give a haul to move up for him but I would stick and pick probably 100% of the time.
BARELY gotten help from the running game as well. They have been awful all season. Unbelievable from an Alabama team.

So aside from my comments yesterday I would ask, if he's so good, why was he backing up Jalen Milroe last year? Milroe for the year last year 16 td 11 picks, I know he had a better year the year before but one of the issues with Bama all last year was Milroe so if Ty Simpson is a first round caliber prospect why didn't Bama give him more than 25 attempts total in the entire season?

Simpson goes against so many accepted practices by NFL teams. Teams look for guys with more than 1 big year, Simpson literally had 1 year as a starter. It's not like he was backing up really good QB's. At least with Mac Jones you knew the guys ahead of him were good.

Because the AL coach is a nitwit.

Just say no to Mac Jones. Cards don't have Shanahan and won't have anyone near Shanahan's coaching ability. Mac Jones is Fool's Gold IMO.

Not saying he's not but generally speaking coaches who see the kids in practice every day, for years, have a better idea than we do which suggests that Simpson at that time wasn't better than Milroe. He is this year but remember Milroe was so bad last year that the rumor was WR's were going to transfer out if he didn't go pro or get benched.

I don't think anybody thinks he's a great player but he's been in a program that has resurrected a few guys careers, including Sam Darnold. As a short term fix he'd be ok, is he going to win you a super bowl on his own of course not, but neither will Brissett or anybody in this years draft.

I don't think they're going to trade him unless they get a big offer because I think they are still concerned about the long term health of Brock Purdy.

It is the same questions people have about Arch Manning. He sat behind Ewers and no one really thought, or thinks, he was elite.

The only reason Simpson is getting so much attention is the QB crop is so weak this year. Especially after guys like Sellers and Nussmeier, who were more highly rated than Simpson going into the season, flopped this year.

Maybe we'll get lucky this time ajcardfan.

Maybe simpson will turn into the next Josh Allen.

I can't really speak to the mindset of the coaches at Alabama. I assume they went with what they were most comfortable with. In terms of experience, yes his is limited. Very similar to Kyler's when we drafted him.

I can only go off of what he has shown. What he has shown is better than almost every other QB that will enter the draft this year. The tools look good. He is doing it with a very mid supporting cast which is uncommon for Alabama QBs.

None of these guys are going to be perfect, and they all will have issues. For Simpson, the issue seems to be starts. He doesn't have a lot. That said, he may have the size, arm strength, processing speed, and enough mobility to work in the NFL. He seems to have the resiliency. He might have the character (i don't know the kid).

All I know is that he is winning and competing at the college level is a not great supporting cast and is looking pretty good doing it. That says a lot to me because that is what he will experience in the NFL. How do you win when the other team has more talent and things aren't perfect.

I guess we'll see I really hope he's not our guy but if he is I hope I'm wrong. The book on him the thing you liked is he's polished, well coached, steps up in the pocket has good fundamentals etc. and then you watch him against OU where there wasn't a consistent pocket and he looked absolutely rattled most of the game. And how polished can a guy be who only played 1 year?

His rattled was 18-29 (62.1%) 232 yards, 2 TDs and zero ints.

Mendoza's poised vs Ohio St was 15-23 (65.2%) 222 yards, 1 TD and 1 Int.

The gap just isn't what people are making it out to be IMO.

Good chance of losing the locker room. Milroe was very beloved by his teammates.

Why didn’t Joe Burrow beat out Dwayne Haskins when he was at Ohio State?

Pretty sure QB2 had a much better run game to take the pressure off. Astounding to me you’re not accounting that.

Milroe wasn't popular they literally said the entire WR room was going to transfer out if Milroe came back to school.

Burrow per google had a hand injury that caused him to lose the starting job to haskins and that he decided to transfer out for that reason.
