I used to argue with guys on UCLA boards about Zach LaVine they all insisted he was a star that was mishandled in college. I knew he was one of those guy who just didn't know how to win but this is kind of amazing. This is over the last 3 decades.

Good thing they got him cheap. Who in their right minds would want a broken down, 32-year-old Davis?
For sure. Dallas gave up nothing for him. Lakers could probably put him on game management rest until the playoffs so that way he's fresh. and he'd probably play 1-2 playoff games and help them root on the squad from the side.

probably back to the Lakers

In an upside down world, trading Lebron and Bronny for Anthony Davis might work.

It would give the Mavericks an expiring contract.

I can see the fans in Dallas now.

Maybe the Lakers would throw in that other first round pick.

How in the world would this be explained to NBA fans? The Lakers would have their cake and eat it too in this scenario.

For DFW that would be Nolan Ryan 2.0, but with his son.

Anyway that would be funny if it happened, especially if James is actually the reason Davis got traded to begin with, which I'm not sure that it was. But, make LBJ end his career on a lottery team while AD is slamming passes from Doncic. I still don't know that it would matter though because AD can't stay healthy. Just goes to show how dumb Nico Harrison is.

didn't shark tank say no way on trading ad just last week
it would be in his best interest to keep saying no. the little value that AD has is not much. If cuban announces the trade ahead of time, then what. IDK how anyone would give something more than an expiring contract and a low round pick. but then again if there is a person out there willing to give a first round pick, I would take that.

his name keeps coming up with the Warriors from people who think they want one last run this year and he could be the guy. I would prefer Gafford. They also keep talking about bringing Klay back but I think that's just nostalgia.

Should add the guy I really want is Nic Claxton and his name comes up too. Kind of resigned myself to the idea they're going to trade Kuminga so if they're going to do it they need to get back a relatively young big. I really wanted Walker Kessler but he's out for the year. Kessler was the closest thing to Bogut out there, Claxton is much more athletic and springy, desperately need more rim protection.

Given it's impossible Houston would trade Steven Adams, and Kessler is out for the year, Claxton or Gafford(or both) would be a godsend. Post is playing better but he is what he is.

I'd be very surprised if Brooklyn gave up Claxton for a package centering around Kuminga.

Yeah his name keeps coming up but I would tend to agree. Brett Siegel said the Nets have no interest in Kuminga so I assume the rumors now are either wrong or would have to involve a 3rd team.

Robert Williams is apparently on the block too but I don't think Portland has any interest in Kuminga

Now Robert Williams... that name I CAN see in a Kuminga trade, but if there isn't any interest... The Warriors should have tried to sign-and-trade him over the summer. His value has torpedoed.

probably back to the Lakers

I've seen a few rumors that might happen. It sucks when it comes to the Lakers though that even the most ridiculous ideas gain traction though so I usually disregard them unless top reporters like Shams verify them though.

I think the problem is multi fold. He has a bigger contract now so the contracts have to fit in a trade. And I think people saw for months what the market was for him, not that great. He actually got off to a good start, then hit a 3 game stretch where he struggled and then all the trade rumors came up again. Once the perception is they are fed up with him and want to move him his value plummets. The first few games the perception with the Warriors was it was good they didn't take the offers they got because he was playing so well. He actually played well against NO in his first game back but he hit 2 threes and I always consider that fools gold with him.

They can't trade him until January so he has a month to build or destroy market value. Some of the deals being proposed are ridiculous, Sabonis for Kuming and Podz was one I saw, no way in hell Sac makes that deal

The best scenario absolutely is that Kuminga plays the rest of the month the way he played the first few games of the year, that Kuminga wouldn't be traded.

I’d be surprised if the Mavericks even entertained a trade with the lakers unless it includes reaves. But we saw what happened before so who knows.
