As bad as we are I don’t think 4-3 is out of the question if the Rams are resting starters in week 18. At the same time we get dominated by Jacksonville they could pack it in and go 0-7.

Either way I can't summon up any energy to give a crap. Root for a better draft position so that player hurts their calf or doesn't live up to expectations.
Win the rest of our games and it's fools gold and no firings.
Even the fing punter goes on IR.

Yep. Midwill is looking for reasons to keep the crew around until the books are clear. Any meaningless win or two accomplishes that.

The Arizona Cardinals signed wide receiver Trent Sherfield, who spent 2018-20 with the franchise, to the practice squad in a slew of roster moves announced on Wednesday.

The Cardinals also signed former Arizona State Sun Devils punter Matt Haack after cutting Pat O’Donnell. Starting punter Blake Gillikin is apparently not ready to come off injured reserve due to a back issue.

In addition, the Cardinals re-signed linebacker Jared Bartlett to the practice squad, signed offensive tackle Trey Wedig to the practice squad and cut wide receiver Jalen Virgil from the practice squad.

Wish he could have played to the level he did in Cincy. I can't imagine he will be back. Next up, Beachum (who might also be injured) and then Josh Fryar. Christian Jones will also push for snaps when/if he comes back.

Jonah Williams to IR, season ending injury

so of the 34 games possible to play in when signed, Jonah will have played in 15 of them

in the three years prior to signing with the Cardinals, Jonah played in 50/51 games.

Sigh

Monti thought he was getting some layups with Justin Jones, Bilal Nichols, Jonah Williams, and SMB and instead he bricked them all. Impressively bad results.

i havent looked at SMB's injury history -- but Jones, Nichols and Williams all were available for 90%+ of their games prior to the Cards

collectively, they have missed more than 80% of their games with the Cards

sometimes you just have terrible luck

Maybe Monti should go after often-injured players & the inverse happens.

fwiw: i think its nearly a certainty that the Cardinals will finish in the top 4 in injuries for the third season in a row
