And the pass pro was atrocious.

I think it looks worse because JB stays in the pocket and gives WRs time to get open. The ball is usually out much quicker so we see less pressure.

Not what I'm addressing. There were three, maybe four sacks where either the OL whiffed completely or there was a free rusher that just clobbered him before he had a chance to even finish his drop. That was atrocious.

It looks worse because it is worse. A pocket passer needs more time, and the OL is not giving it to him. There were bodies collapsing pockets ALL NIGHT last night. If OL isn't a multi pick proposition next draft, there's no point in getting a shiny new QB

There is no Qb controversy. The only controversy would be Kyler getting inserted back into the starting line up.
I don’t care what Gannon says. But I would love to be in coaches meeting today when discussing this situation.
Gannon may lose the team if he puts Murray back in, but he will definitely lose the fans.

Honestly I love all this for Kyler whether he ever gets the job back here or somewhere else. He's never been benched before. Surely watching JB's success will force him to evaluate his own game and the need to actually throw the ball down the field instead of always checking it down or running from the pocket instead of hanging tough and delivering the throw. I would imagine this is a humbling experience that will only make him better.

I think he would probably put the “blame” on Petz, for changing game plan.

This is all that needs to be said about Murray.
He NEEDED to be benched to reevaluate his job?
Bottom line. Murray is an athletic player that can cause problems for defenses when ALLOWED to get out of the pocket.
He will NEVER be a pocket passer. He can’t. He physically can’t. Since the league figured out how to contain him he’s never been the same.
JB was completing passes with defensive players within a yard of him. Kyler can’t and won’t ever do that.

I'm not ready to go that far yet. Again, I think Bryce Young (who was also a 5'10, #1 overall pick) is proof that a benching can do you good. He looked like dog trash and then he was benched for 4 games, came back and was actually a different qb. That's a recent, similar comp.

Bryce has only been in the league for 3-4 years. Kyler’s limitations have been exposed.

There should be absolutely no complaints if we take a guard in the first round next year.

I don't know about that. He's not been "benched" for performance and Gannon says he's still the guy. In 7 years here I don't see any indication that he has any measure of humility or much accountability in him. At least IMO.

He'll be back under center soon enough more than likely. Then we shall see.

Another incompetent performance by Murray resulting in a loss would destroy what’s left of this fan base.
