We've been so beaten down as Cardinals fans that the standards around here are unfathomably low.
It really makes me wonder if posters watch football outside of the Cardinals because so often it seems like arguments are made about things like injuries, “bad calls”, the league, etc that doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Yeah, watching last night with the Rams/Niners makes you realize how far behind we are in even our own division. Nobody in SF are crying about injuries non-stop.

Seriously…. I’d think anyone who watched the Niners game last night would be embarrassed to say a word about injuries moving forward but this team has conditioned fans to make excuses where they just should exist… forever.
Only when comparing ourselves and the Niners in a vacuum. Virtually nothing about our teams are comparable, besides the fact that we play in the same division.

With our ownership and franchise, things need to nearly go perfect in order to have success. We saw that in the Super Bowl year.

If it doesn't we typically suck.

So yeah, we can lament injuries because it is a severe obstacle for this organization. I don't feel embarrassed about it either.

Gonna get grouped out of the Champions League
Hey - we we're first place after the group stage last round, and ended up with PSG in knockout. Just have to make the knockout stage!

The only reason injuries are a severe obstacle is because the organization consistently doesn’t spend money on players, coaches and scouting… evidenced by having one of the lowest paid coaching staff in the league (if not the lowest IIRC), consistently sitting on a lot of cap room and routinely blowing the draft because we’re still apparently working with the same bad scouts from Keim-time’s last tenure.

If you don’t think that’s embarrassing, I don’t know what to tell you.

You have a link to lowest paid? I know JG is not the lowest paid coach.

So when the 49ers went 6-11 last year, losing twice to the Cardinals including a 47-24 blowout, it must've been crappy coaching and scouting, not bad injury luck?

@Harry I know you were a scout and I have a lot of respect for it.

Are you saying that scouts don't look at injury history thinking it might lead to future injuries? This would explain so much

You’re talking about one season, Dave.

I don't think that lamenting injuries is embarrassing. You could argue the rest of it is, but that wasn't the point of your post about complaining about injuries...

Sorry if I confused you, but yes scouts consider injuries. On another thread I mention that an ACL tear had a 15% likelihood of being repeated. So you have to ask if you like a player so much you’ll risk that chance of repeat. I’ve never seen a stat on someone with 2 ACL tears, but Atlanta took Penix on a big gamble. So far, so good. It’s just a risk you have to accept with some talented players.

I wonder if this clip from John Gruden is the reason why so many guys are getting hurt these days. Your thoughts?
