Seems to be on the west side of town correct?

Nope this is north of the 101 technically PHX but really more scottsdale ish.

Actually a really good spot for it. Wouldn't have been bad for the stadium to go out here.

it was confirmed that this property is the same one that the Coyotes had pegged for their new facility.

further speculation:

1. The Bidwills are interested in the NHL (Matt Ishbia of the Suns reportedly interested as well)
2. This was a pre-emptive strike by the Bidwills to take an arena spot if they dont want the NHL

1. Mike sure loves his uber-mod architecture. I hope thats just a concept

2. I believe the Cards bought the site the Coyotes were after.
Is Michael going to prevent the yotes from coming back? LOL.

This is the right move - we need a bigger lot and new facilities rather than dressing up the Tempe location.

It will be here - right in that big open space. Drove past it yesterday - unbeknownst to me that it was going to happen.

This is a HUGE deal for the Cards...I'm surprised you all aren't talking more about it. Could be a difference maker for the team....way overdue.

(Although there are 3 different threads on here.) ;)

I'm hearing that Michael may have interest in getting a new Coyotes franchise into a new arena there as well.

(Oops - football karma already said this.)

I'll do ya one better...Bidwill's move all Tempe offices to New North Valley location, leaving the Tempe site for hockey (where it should be anyway).

The Bidwills want a new stadium in Scottsdale in around 8-10 years. Scottsdale probably wants this too.

Probably increases the value of the franchise by a billion or two. Also allows them to dabble in side projects up there that are less prone to market corrections like they got burned on in Glendale during the GFC.

There is a bigger thread already going on this.

@Ronin Can you merge to three threads?

This is near where I live and I’m in the Desert Ridge area frequently. I am totally stoked!

When the Rams were in Anaheim their training facility was very close to my house and, as a fan, it was so much fun! Some of the guys had houses in my neighborhood. I’d see the players all the time. Shopping, at restaurants, hanging out at the community hot tub. (Three linebackers squeezed into a small hot tub displaces a lot of water.)

I’d talk to the guys but never as a fan. Though some of them knew I was raised as a Ram fan and loved the team since childhood. I was taking care of my dad at the time and he loved getting to know his heroes. I heard all kinds of things about the team and practices. But I was loyal and never spilled the beans to local media. It was just too much fun enjoying the hang.

fwiw: I think a Scottsdale / PV address for players will be better received than Awatukee and Chandler
