I thought we were going to get blown out this past Sunday. Shows how much I know.

every facet of this team is designed to avoid high point differentials...the scheme is designed to keep the game a slog, grinding, plodding, slog...and leave us a chance at the end.
it aint pretty...but it is the reason we have posted so many really close games against much better teams.... unfortunately it is also the reason we have posted really close games against really crappy teams.

Yep, you couldn’t be more right. I really like JG, but it drives me insane when he constantly says “We need to score 1 more point than our opponents”. NO, NO, NO. That kind of football is holding back too many guys on the offensive side of the ball. If this is JG’s goal every year, I will eventually be falling off his bandwagon. And it pains me to say that!

I said this last year as well but thought the team would cultivate mutltiple ways to win.

We showed we could win a grinder game.

The hope was that we could adjust to when we needed to win a shootout. Unfortunately we have zero way to win that kind of game.

Thursday games are often weird. I do not have a good feeling about this one. In a very rare situation I will not be attending AND I am unable to watch most of it live due to a work commitment. I am kind of fine with that. I am afraid we will get drilled.

We have to have the emotional edge big time to have a chance. Both lines need to dominate and on paper that is a concern for sure.

I’ve never heard him say that, but knowing he has pretty much robs me of most of my hope moving forward. That is an absolutely pathetic mindset for a Head Coach to have for his team and it’s evident by the way this team has played for the last three seasons.

But who knows.

Practical question.

Since we are playing Thursday night, are we able to do the roster moves early as well? Jones, Nolan and BJ are eligible to be activated after 4 games

Wow. Had forgotten all about these guys. Doubt any will be ready next week, unless there’s an emergency. I’m hoping they will energize our defense because it’s sure been flat.

JG & Petzing have both said it more than once. I understand he’s just stating that winning is everything, but when we play as conservatively as we have, that comment scares me.

It looked like the 49ers were in prevent defense the entire game, it makes sense that we weren't airing out the ball. The issue is we've become one of the worst rushing teams in the league and can't punish teams for constantly being in 2 high.

Last year we had an OL that performed very well despite having unimpressive parts. Now they're just terrible. I guess Klayton Adams was important.
