He is a little too boom or bust for me right now. 2 of his carries have accounted for 65% of his yards. On the other 19 carries, he is averaging 2.3 ypc.

The big play element is obviously missing from this offense, so I'm definitely not knocking him for that. I'm just worried about what will happen when he needs to get us a couple yards in a big situation. Conner could be pretty clutch in those situations.
He is not a tough runner. When he gets to the line he turns his back to it if he doesn’t see a hole and starts dancing.

I hate to say this but after 3 games JC just hasn’t been the same as last year. Don’t get me wrong he has been my favorite Cardinal over the last 2 years, but I’m afraid this is the end for him. Great run James and you’ve lasted longer than 90% of RBs. But behind this Oline even you can’t excel. That’s what it’s looked like to me. Probably due to the new Oline coach/scheme.
Funny thing is, after the last 3 game performance, the Connor injury isn’t even my biggest concern. I mean come on, MHJ can’t catch, Kyler gets lost lining up the offense when the play clock is short, Petzing can’t coordinate an offense to win an NFL football game.
This loss stings but we all know something is wrong!
Having Will Hernandez blocking instead of Adams can help the running game a little.

Yeah not saying he's better than Conner just saying he has an element that JC didn't bring, but there's going to be lots of things we miss about Conner.

This is my biggest concern about benson. Lesson Johnson 2.0?

Bummer for Conner. Dude was a warrior.

This sucks. His career is over now.
Agree, unfortunately. He has hit the 30 year old club and now has a major leg injury. That is not a good combination.

Can a mod change the thread title? Gannon said he needs surgery on his foot - not his ankle.
You are correct. I updated it.

Coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed Monday that Conner is indeed done for the season. The veteran will need surgery on his right foot – not the ankle, as originally announced – and will work to return in 2026.

Foot - doesn't sound as bad as a broken ankle or torn knee ligaments?
I mean this guy beat cancer so I’m not gonna doubt him. Having said that, I had a foot injury that required surgery and immobilization for like four months while the tendon healed. Then you have to rebuild the strength and flexibility across all those tiny bones and muscles.
