Of course he is...He pitched like garbage for most of the season but has two more months worth of starts to prove his offseason worth as a free agent. Let's get him over that $50 million deal mark so that we get a better conditional draft pick.

As I said in the Padres series thread... I can't understand why Kyle Nelson was put back onto the active roster. He should never see a major league pitcher's mound again.

It was interesting to hear Ryan Nelson's post-game interview. He appeared to be completely at peace with Torey's decision to yank him from the game, after striking out the first two batters...saying he believes in management and knows they are looking out for his long-term health. He threw 100 pitches on the nose last night, which was considerably more than any other outing this season. So not sure what to make of his comments and Torey's decision to pull him.
Is it a sign that both the players and management have officially tossed in the towel this season and are going to play and manage in ways that aren't as much focused on winning, as it is to protect players while also getting a feel for the new guys? If it's this, I think I can live easier with Torey taking Ryan out of the game. But if this was not the case and Torey pulling Ryan was merely Torey playing by the book, game situation be damned, well... that is a very bad look for Torey and as much as I've defended him over the years, I'd say what he did last night is unforgivable. We'll never know the truth of course, but it will be very interesting to see how this team plays and the in-game decisions being made by Torey over the balance of the season.

Pitch counts are the death of MLB pitchers. Don’t talk to me about injuries. There have never been this many pitcher’s long term injuries as with the pitch count. Another nerd stat, not based in reality. An easy way out for the lazy manager. I can sit on the couch and see the pitch count. Your job depends on a lot more than that.

How many of the Reds relief pitchers are on the IL? Saw a stat the other day that said relief pitchers have pitched 52% of all innings pitched this year. Wouldn't be surprised it's even higher for the Dbacks... :(
SP - Wade Miley, Nick Lodolo, Hunter Greene, Carson Sports, Rhett Lowder, Ty Floyd, Brandon Williamson, Julian Aguilar

RP - Teyjay Antone, Josh Staumont, Alex Young, Ian Gibaut

That's their pitcher injuries for the entire season.

6 games out of the final WC spot, with 44 games left… I mean, it’s not out of the realm of possibility, right?? The next 7 games include 4 against this COL team, and three winnable games against the Rangers…

They are a .500 team at best this year. Injuries, and mediocre play have really hurt this team. An obvious over positivity about our starting pitching coupled with our bullpen always being the weak link for the Dbacks historically, have sunk this team. This year the team also turned into a bad defensive team, while they have been able to hang their hats on being good defensively in the past.
