I know I’m in the minority… but, the Dodgers’ payroll is literally double that of the Dbacks. The Padres is more than $50m higher.
And after all this team has been thru this season, playing guys that likely would be in AAA for most other contending teams, and a pen of never heard-of dudes, the Dodgers and Padres have just 9 more wins than the Dbacks.
That’s nuts…

Goes to show what woulda, coulda, shoulda have happened if the Dbacks had remained healthy this season. Torey still needs to go. He is a sub .500 manager - period. I know the truth hurts. Time to give someone else a chance to manage this ballclub.

If either Kyler Murray or Devin Booker pulled this crap they would be the most hated person in the valley
Murray is already the most polarizing love/hate player in AZ sports right now...lol The oft injured Booker also has his detractors and there was plenty said about him, when it was reported he wanted a say in the next HC and how the roster was constructed.

LOL.. Just won’t debate Torey with you anymore.

And as I said, he may be gone next year. It wouldn’t be the right move, nor for the right reasons… But he certainly wouldn’t be the first pro sports manager who paid the price for events and dynamics that were beyond his control.
I’ll always believe with certainty, that Torey is much more the manager aligned with the 2023 season, as opposed to this year where he’s been on his heels, back against the ropes all season.

I know you love you some Torey, but after as many seasons as he's had here in AZ, no World Series championship, and a sub .500 overall record (I can see you grimacing when you are reminded of that), I'd like to see some fresh blood in the clubhouse as manager. I actually think he won't be fired - but that will be the wrong move by Hazen. I'm tired of debating you as well. I just provide factual statistics. I won't reply to any more of your posts that heap the lovin' on Torey until he is fired. How about that for compromise?

Not grimacing at all. I believe Torey, over the course of his tenure with the team, consistently got the most out of the hands he was dealt.
And yea… I know all you do is spew stats, just like my 12 year old nephew. Stat-spewers are geniuses… I forgot.

There are very few things that fans should realistically feel entitled to. One is that players should give them a full effort. The actions of Marte recently have led some people to question his willingness to give that effort, despite being healthy. The need for a scheduled day off the day after appearing as a designated hitter does give detractors something to sink their teeth into.

Marte has started at 2B in 74 of the Diamondbacks 125 games this year, which is hardly a strenuous workload, and granted he had played 7 days in a row before that game as DH, but that's hardly Cal Ripkenesque.

I’m kind of disgusted that Miguel Montero is one of our bench coaches. I didn’t realize that until recently.

I think he’s a cancer.

Back when he played here, it was quite obvious that he was the guy who was constantly leaking stuff to Gambo, trashing the stars and the young guys on the team.

Many fans are blaming the media for poor timing, for sabotaging a hot streak, for loose lips that sink ships. Geraldo Perdomo even interrupted Torey Lovullo’s postgame press conference Sunday in Denver to chide the media, imploring us to leave his shellshocked teammate alone.

Astonishing. Such a scene would never be tolerated in New York or Boston, much less celebrated. Especially when the player in question is so coddled and occasionally self-absorbed.

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was crazy that Perdomo would just come out and interrupt the coach. Had this been planned and Torey got a chance to introduce Perdomo as a voice of the locker room, very different.

This is damning

Marte also missed Ketel Marte Bobblehead night at Chase Field. He was not in the lineup the following Sunday and the team didn’t pay him during his absence. They are clearly not condoning his behavior. So why are you?

Among the many problems this team battles, is the glaring lack of clubhouse (player on player) leadership. There is no alpha...No one dude who can credibly, certifiably hold another player to account. The Dbacks have actually suffered from this problem for a very long time. Even Goldy was never a true clubhouse leader, though, if more players mirrored themselves after him, it wouldn't have hurt!
