Morris, 35, was arrested at a Broward County airport on a felony charge of Fraud - Writing a Check with Insufficient Funds related to a case in another state and is being held without bond, according to online records obtained by the New York Post. Additional details regarding the charge weren't immediately made available.

I don't think the Suns new owner fully understood the CBA rules.

Even if that was true, that's not really the fault of the CBA. These things are always enormously complex with a lot of moving pieces, teams have to take responsibility for understanding how it works.

This is why I think the CBA needs to be revisited when it comes up for renewal. A progressive tax on salary might have enough without the penalties.

The Durant and Beal trades were all on Matt Ishbia and James Jones for their roles in the matter.

No excuses but new owners need to be protected from themselves. The Stepien Rule helped out, or I'm sure the consequences would have been much worse.

I was searching for another way to limit team's spending without the harsh penalties. The luxury tax seemed to do that for most teams. There needs to be an alternative. I was searching for it.

Maybe the NBA Commissioner needs to be more active in these situations.

A better way to get rid of bad contracts like Beal and Lillard would also help. There are some stars out there that are no longer worth large contracts but are still getting paid.

It affects the whole pay scale as it trickles down. This needs to be corrected.
