I hate seeing players traded mid-game. Takes the air out of the dugout
********. Torey might not be, but the players are. They arent trying to win games
Yea… certainly showing up at the plate. 1 run in the last 19 innings.********. Torey might not be, but the players are.
Against the Pie-Rats no less. With Skenes going tomorrow, could be 1 run in 29 innings.Yea… certainly showing up at the plate. 1 run in the last 19 innings.
The trade deadline is looming large on the team… Carroll is young and has never dealt with this type of situation. He looks lost, as does Geno who I’m sure is waiting for the shoe to drop at any minute.Against the Pie-Rats no less. With Skenes going tomorrow, could be 1 run in 29 innings.
Shouldn’t this be the type of situation where a players manager excels in motivating his team? The trade deadline is looming large on the team… Carroll is young and has never dealt with this type of situation. He looks lost, as does Geno who I’m sure is waiting for the shoe to drop at any minute.
Of course… some would say he’s done just that in getting the team and keeping them still relevant, given the onslaught of crap this team has been hit with all season long…Shouldn’t this be the type of situation where a players manager excels in motivating his team?

But if you think Alexander, English, McCarthy, McCann, Grichiuk, Barrosa and Del Castillo are players you can win with, well… we just have different standards and views of reality.
Hope you’re right…I mostly agree. Del Castillo will be fine
It’s the laziest, most out of touch with reality & absolute worst part of fandom.Blaming Torey this year is just nonsense and that comes from a vocal anti Torey guy.
In your opinionIt’s the laziest, most out of touch with reality & absolute worst part of fandom.
No matter how good a bullpen we had, his bullpen management has almost always been questionable. Other in game manglement decisions as well, lol. There's a reason why he is well under .500 as a manager. Nice guy, but no Tony La Russa. In your opinion
But even when we had a full roster, Tori’s managing leave leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion
He was questionable in 2023, then makes the playoffs by 1 game. You'd think after the WS run, he'd reflect on what he could do better, but noooo...Makes even more questionable decisions in 2024 and misses playoffs by one freaking game. This year, even with injuries, they're probably even for a wildcard spot, if he makes better decisions with bullpen and roster management. I've never seen a more incompetent manager, when it comes to handling a batting lineup when he has players on hot streaks. He's an absolute cooler. Oh, you were in a mini-slump and went 3-4 yesterday? Damn, I better give you a day off, instead of letting you build on your success. Complete moronic management. No matter how good a bullpen we had, his bullpen management has almost always been questionable. Other in game manglement decisions as well, lol. His days off schedule is insane.
so Hazen is the manager? So I was 100% on this with you but Gambo has said multiple times that the scheduled days off come above Torey. So it's a Hazen thing
There was an SI article a while back explaining it. I did a quick look but couldn’t find it. The medical staff supplies Torey with a schedule on how many games they think a certain player needs off during a set time. There is a little wiggle room but not much. If there ends up being a new manager he will get the same schedule. Get use to it as long as Hazen is the GM.so Hazen is the manager?
That seems to be a weird dynamic
If that's true, that's the same type of weird dynamic that MO Mozeliak has with Marmol in St. Louis. Marmol can't go to the bathroom without MO's permission. Might as well just put a cardboard cutout of Marmol in the dugout.so Hazen is the manager?
