Suns draft Khaman Maluach with the 10th pick

Ayton might literally have the worst hands in the NBA. Doncic and Lebron in for an unpleasant surprise with those no look passes.

I couldn't find the measurements for Ayton's hands, but they didn't look big for a player his length.

Actually, the thing that encourages me the most is the kids personality, confidence, and intelligence.

This kid is supremely likeable and magnetic. He's going to be great in the lockeroom.

This is a good description, particularly the part regarding boxing out. He’s definitely not a technician at rebounding . . . yet. But seems teachable.

There were some rebounds I wish Khaman had tried to chase down, but it's an entirely different ball game than college with the spacing.

Alex Sarr caught his attention with a couple of well-timed blocks, but Khaman was able to return the favor at least once.

I am curious what we were offered but I'm glad that isn't readily available to sort of provide a different path to compare things to. This front office earned some goodwill from me for taking the player they should have and staying on the path we're on. Time will tell if it was the right choice in the long run but I'm all in on the now largely because of that pick.

I mostly studied the draft presuming Maluach wouldn't be there at #10 and hoping the Suns would trade down. There was very little time to study the draft because the Suns traded Durant late.

I had players like Sorber (injured) and Fleming as good prospects in the teens. Also, I wanted the Suns to pick up another big like Thiero or a point guard in the second round.

If I had watched more video, I would have been begging the Suns to draft Beringer. Athletically, this is what I hoped Maluach would be not that Khaman can't be that and more.

not me - not at all - i would've answered the phones and all but there's no way im giving up that 7 foot lottery ticket - im glad all the point guards and hybrids went early - very fortunate for us

Listening to Kellan Olsen and his buddy on their podcast, they were kinda negative about the suns, being overly specific about individual players. However, from a 10.000 foot view, the Suns had to get younger, more athletic, and taller. They did that.

That was my thought too...like a mix between Hakeem and Dekimbe.
I would be so damned stoked for the Suns if that happens.

I don’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm, particularly because Khaman was the guy I was hoping we would take, but y’all got to remember he’s an 18 year old kid who grew up in Africa. I highly doubt he averages 10/10 this season. If he does, I’ll be shocked and it likely portends for really great things in his future. I’d say a rookie year of 8/6 with 2 blocks a game is a terrific, and realistic, start to his career.

If he gets close to 10/10, and adds a couple blocks, some solid passing, and maybe a steal/deflection... i would be pretty stoked.
The best part about his background is his lack of experience. Right now dude has the experience of the average American 12 year old...he has proven he learns fast. By 21 the kid could be dominant.
Regular triple doubles with blocks added in.
If we could find a 20 year old Kidd/Nash to pair with him the next 15 years could be a good time to be a Suns fan...
You get star caliber 1 and 5 and the other slots almost become plug and play.
He could do for the Suns what The Admiral did for the Spurs
