i see a bit of that - and i don't think maluach will get embarrassed like gobertKhamen reminds me of Mutombo. He has a level of self awareness and confidence I don't see in Gobert.

whatever you say essay - gobert has been a liability since the cheat code came out on him - i don't think maluach has the same weakness - i don't understand why contesting dunks came into your equation either - that's never been a knock on either player - you won't have to worry about maluach taking plays offEmbarrassed?
If contesting dunks and getting dunked on is embarrassing then I'm all for our guys getting embarrassed. It's the non-contesting layup and dunk line that i've grown to hate the last couple of years.
Amare was a bully (not in the negative way). He was going to go through you unless you proved you could stop him and even then he wasn't afraid to do it again. Those players are rare. I miss peak Amare.Amare had no fear. He was so decisive with the ball. Strength and power going straight to the rim. Jerry Colangelo got a five minute look at him, and gave his draft guys the thumbs up. You just knew.

He's really cut. I could see another 20-40 pounds on that frame as he matures, without slowing him down.

i agree - and gobert is better than anything we've ever had at center - even at his current ageIf you were speaking about getting dunked on that's all I was referring to, if that's what you meant by embarrassed.
But now I understand you mean getting played off the court.
Sure Gobert isn't what he was as he's 33 now but he still anchors them in game in and game out.
Maluach is 18 and hasn't even played an NBA game man.
Ayton actually had a good year with us, that I would say overall when you count offense too, was better than Gobert. He just mentally lost it.i agree - and gobert is better than anything we've ever had at center - even at his current age
I see that to, but I am really hoping in time he becomes more like the next Embid.i see a bit of that - and i don't think maluach will get embarrassed like gobert
I agree with this, but admittedly I hate Gobert, so I am biased.Ayton actually had a good year with us, that I would say overall when you count offense too, was better than Gobert. He just mentally lost it.
Don't believe this has been posted. It's a really good video that breaks down Maluach's game pre-draft. It was made 3 months ago and discusses potential landing spots at the end of the video. Of course the Suns aren't mentioned since we didn't have a pick then. However the breakdown and highlights make it a good watch for anyone curious about his year at Duke, pre NCAA play, and what he brings to the table while showing highlights throughout.

Found it funny that his opinion of his ceiling was basically Ayton numbers (16/10) with elite defense.Don't believe this has been posted. I think that’s too big an ask.I see that to, but I am really hoping in time he becomes more like the next Embid.
I was thinking Hakeem myself.I think that’s too big an ask.
It is, but that's kind of where we're at.I think that’s too big an ask.

Initially I was going to say Dikembe Mutombo, but I grew sad at his recent passing.
Ah cmon. That comp is no fun.I know he never maintained or hit the next level but I see Gorgui Dieng in him. Maluach is better but that isn't a bad floor. Dieng was averaging 10 ppg, 8 rpg, 1 block, 1 steal, and 37% from deep.

He’s already much more skilled than mutumbo (and I LOVED mutumbo). Dikembe couldn’t have done those dribbling drills like Khaman and had no jumpshot whatsoever.i keep thinking dikembe mutombo - gazelle like speed for a big and what appears to be a true joy for the game - fun is important - we've kinda been missing fun since mikal and payne left - mutombo had more fun than anyone
