Well...what was he like? What did you talk to him about?

Well...what was he like? What did you talk to him about?

My Sgt and I Were assigned to him while he was in the LV airport awaiting his flight. They wanted help keeping people from rushing up on him and bothering him while he was there. He was just very appreciative. Very down to earth. I initially thanked him for his service in WW2 and of course told him I was big fan of his movies. He smiled was very thankful of us being there. He said sometimes fans while he loves them they can become too much and overbearing. Even get pushy. He laughed and cracked some jokes as we walked and rode the tram. He talked about police work and asked us what it was like to be a cop In Vegas. Thanked us for our service. Once at the gate he just kinda waited with 2 others that were with him and we just sorta posted up. Didn’t do much talking after that. Just made sure he got on his plane safely and without incident. A few people wouldn’t get close, but they would yell around us and ask him if they could get his autograph and everyone that did he actually appeased them. Was happy to do it too it seemed. He’s very fan friendly but at his age I think he is worried about his health and too many crowding him which is understandable. He was definitely just a good old dude. I was already a HUGE fan and now I’m an even bigger one if that’s possible.

That's a great story, I'm glad to hear he's a decent guy. Coincidentally I've been re-watching some of his appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm...he was pretty old then! Still had the incredible comedic timing.
