The max he can get is the amount he gave up in the buyout. He can't double dip and make more. Usually the agent gets permission to shop around for a contract and the buyout is based on that figure. I wouldn't be surprised if he already has a landing spot.

I haven't heard the amount of Ayton's buyout. The standard MLE is $14,104,000 but it varies.

Report the Suns are not focused on Chris Paul as a free agency target.

The Rockets are reportedly getting ready to offer Dorian Finney-Smith a four year contract.

It sounds like the Lakers may be interested in Brook Lopez.

Jaren Jackson Jr. to get a $240 million extension from the Grizzlies.

The contrast from that and Ayton is even larger now. JJJ settled for less on his rookie extension and was rewarded. Ayton is shopping for a new home and it's safe to say he won't sniff a max deal again.

It's a huge contrast for sure. What is sad, Ayton has all the talent in the world.

Big loss for the Lakers. Wonder if they'd be interested in one Royce O'Neale

Royce and Grayson should have some trade value after the initial signing frenzy subsides. A lot of teams will end up empty handed and I believe the notion we're retaining them is posturing to keep their value as high as possible.

Truly... and no one to blame but himself. Immaturity will apparently always be the stumbling block that derailed him.

I remember watching him his one year in college just destroy ASU like Godzilla and thinking there was no way he wouldn't be a monster at the next level, too. And then watching him in recent years and it's like an entirely different guy, playing like he's literally afraid of breaking a sweat.

Those smaller NBA contracts are gold for talented player.

The larger contracts feel like a heavy weight with the CBA.

Denver getting Cam Johnson - for Porter hurts.

Brooklyn is just stupid to do that deal.

Brooklyn got an unprotected first as well. How many players and firsts is that now?
An unprotected first in 2032.

Porter will never play well again. He is a big negative, one of the worst contracts in the league.

NBA trades make no sense. Cam Johnson goes for almost nothing, but guys like Nurkic, Bane, and Gobert get ridiculous returns.
