I didn't like the trade, don't like Bridges as the player or person, but I won't rehash that all year and hope to be proven wrong.

I think he's physically ready but I don't know how many minutes we'll have for him. I'd have been fine even starting him as as rookie at the 4 although obviouly there'd be growing pains. But Bridges is the better player right now and Fleming needs minutes too so I don't how much compeating he'll get to do.

The talent discrepancy is pretty huge there, IMO. On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the best, I'd rate Bridges at a 2 and Sochan at a 4. I'm very curious to see what we look like with Bridges in the starting lineup and I really hope he can get his personal life together and be a better man and father for his children.

I also hope Steve is right that Peat is ready to compete in year one at the NBA level.

Yeah, but on a veteran minimum salary, Sochan is a pretty sweet deal.

I don't think it's a gross overpayment either. But I still don't know why we went after Miles, considering his offseason issues, while drafting a very similar styled player. It would make sense if Peat were a raw project but he knows the game and physically he's ready. I expect Miles to be the better PF for us out of the gate but I don't think what we gain is worth what we lost unless there really was no market for Royce and Allen.

But if we can make this deep roster work while still developing KM, Fleming, Peat and whoever then great. I'm not sure how Ott will make that happen but I'm looking forward to watching how it plays out.

I don't think there was a market for Allen and O'Neale without sweeteners being attached. And that is what the Suns did.

And they likely will not be expiring contracts until 2027-28.

Well, as an adult, I'm willing to spend extra for quality rather than paying less for a bunch of cheap items.

Price is not always an indicator of quality.

Sometimes you can get the good stuff cheaper and it's of equal or better quality.

It's really hard to evaluate, those were the salaries we needed to make it work. Ishbia has been intent on getting Bridges for years (I passion I suspect he would lack entirely if not for the Michigan State connection), and we've seen that when Ishbia wants something he doesn't bother with negotiation.

I expect the Hornets to move one or both of them during the season and we're going to be really annoyed by the value they extract, especially if Allen has a bounce back year with his health. Healthy Allen is worth considerably more than Bridges.
