Horrible deal.

Green is a negative. 2nd round picks 90% of the time are worthless.

We got a an 8th man and a 10th pick essentially for a top 15 player.

It's official our management are extremely incompetent.

Yeah unless the 10th pick turns out to be a huge sleeper I don't like the deal. I get that they didn't want to be stuck with an aging Durant and nobody else to surround Booker but Green is a good not great player who got really exposed in the playoffs. Brooks can defend but he's a jerk and not a great offensive player.

The guy you want of course is Amen Thompson, they're not trading him but I would have preferred Jabari Smith or even Sheppard to Green. And I would have preferred either Eason or maybe even Whitmore over Brooks.

The pipe dream would have been Eason or Sengun but I assume they were both off the table

Houston definitely figures to contend now they were short on offense and Durant gives them that

So spurs rumored offer must not have been real or the Suns are even dumber than I thought. Vassell and 14 is way better than this sludge, as is the rumored Miami offer.

Well.... I figured I would hate it and I was right.

My guess is that Brooks is gone before the season starts for a ham sandwich and some lemonade.

I guess if you're Phoenix you're look at guys like Jakacuinos from Illinois or Maluach from Duke and hoping they are there at 10

The lemonade will cost at least a 2nd rd pick

FWIW. The Heat is said to have made multiple trade offers.

Just checked AI - in a multi player deal, players cannot be traded again for 60 days after the initial deal

So we traded the equivalent of 12 first's for him, and 2 and 1/2 years later after still being an all star he is now only worth the 10th pick in a draft that everyone agrees falls off hard after 8?

Man your ability to cope is unbelievable.
2 and a half years ago it was conceivable that we could get 4+ good years from him. The Rockets are not getting more than maybe 2 good years from him, if they are lucky.

The 10th pick has maybe a 20% success rate at being anything more than a journeyman.

2 good years of KD is worth one hell of a lot more than that.

I am not upset with the trade at all.
We hit a lot of benchmarks and that’s considering the limited leverage we had on the asset.
I also am probably more biased because I like Green and value him higher in the return than others.

Some knocks I've seen on Jalen Green, he was erratic in the playoffs and his salary.

He started so well and then vanished the further the series went. He has a ton of potential and allows us to now consider a team after Booker. I think this trade signals that Booker isn't as untouchable as some theorized or that the Suns believe he may ask out and are planning for life beyond him.

Or it means they could not find a single team that would take Green - more likely.
