OT: Kyler Murray Debacle Thread

I’m ready to move on as well.. but I also will be VERY curious to see what Kyler does w an experienced NFL OC vs having to play through 2 rookie OC’s. This organization failed Kyler miserably between the OC situations, the worse interior OLine in the league for the past 6 years (Kyler’s weakest point of attack) and no true #1 WR (outside of the NUK days.. and when available ) let alone he’s never had a WR2. I guess Kirk could qualify as that, but I’m in record in saying he isn’t even that.. weak 2 at best. Imagine having Chase/higgins Jefferson/addison brown/williams Kupp/nucca brown/smith.. he had nothing ever close to this in combination of a weak oline and rookie OCs.

Alas - I am ready to move on as he certainly isn’t the fit for at least this organization.

Kyler had the same QB coach as Aaron Rodgers his rookie season. The coach retired after one year and then later returned.

Possibly.. seems every other young highly drafted QB is provided those tools. Burrow Herbert Hurts etc. would just like to see the same from our organization and then let the chips fall from there.

Herbert? Lol. Whatever credibility you still had left just flew out the window. He’s got dogsnot at RB and a rookie WR, a suspect O-line and next to nothing at TE, with one of the most conservative OCs in football.

To be fair. It's just steadily got worse over the last couple years. You had to give him some time in the beginning to develop and see.... especially with the talent he displayed in his first few years.

It has... and I've had my moments of optimism, but we're also entering a period of time in the NFL where players are pretty quickly established. I'm struggling to think of someone who has really emerged after being given 3+ years to develop on one team. Geno, Goff, Darnold, and Baker have emerged... but on different teams.

And he’s successful this season without any of those weapons this season.

And Kyler had Nuk, Kirk and Ertz, to go along with a good running game every single season he’s been in the league.

Ineptitude on the scale of signing a non-franchise QB to a franchise contract a year early and extending the GM and HC a year before you have to then fire them when it all collapses, then cash-strapping the next GM/hiring a GM who won't spend a lot of money? We've got that.

Mikey is better and, believe it or not, less money grubbing than his dear old dad, but it's kind of like saying Bernie Madoff is a better financial advisor than the guy who lost you a bag when the Great Depression kicked off. You really don't want either of them in charge.

You have to put that in context. Until the bye we were first in the NFL in ratio of Td's to redzone trips. The reason is we're such a good running team and one of the reasons we are is because Kyler is a run threat.

After the bye, we fell off a cliff on that and a big reason why is Kyler stopped running, and then our issues in the passing game became much more obvious.

So yeah he's a big reason why we only have 15 but it wasn't even remotely a problem before the bye because of all the rushing TD's.

We just don't get easy TD's, we don't get very many deep strikes the one to Wilson recently was an exception and that's both on Kyler, and on our complete lack of speed at WR

We were averaging slightly more than one offensive TD per game before the bye. After the bye our average is basically the same.

Big plays come from the passing game. Our passing game is bad. We can’t get explosive plays from our offense.

That if we had continued to be that efficient in the redzone post bye we would probably be in the playoffs.

If the rate of scoring is the same, and the rate of redzone TD's is way down, clearly we are underperforming post bye. I say it's largely because Kyler stopped running.
