Surprised he's staying away from Washington. They have a decent nucleus of young talent on the offensive side of the ball and can draft their QB at 2. Plus, their new owner seems like a guy willing to spend to win.
I don't think he got the gig and they allowed him to bow out gracefully.

Must be a lot of pressure on teams that pass on Belichick. The guy you take instead, better be good, so I can understand why they are taking a long time to name a HC.

Seems reasonable. How many years?

Not sure on the length.

NFL reporter Josina Anderson posted on social media, "I'm told personnel around the league are discussing their awareness that some Owners have been told #Lions OC Ben Johnson's asking price is at least or around $15M/year for a head coach job, per source."

Belicheck was making more at NE, but that would put him in top 5 of NFL head coaches.
Yep, that's a lot of coin for an unproven commodity. I get owners shell out a ton of $ on coaches, but I think it's foolish to do so on 1st time HCs. Every year there is a "hot commodity" coordinator that flames out it seems when they get a HC gig.

And that was Harbaugh’s defense. Hes like a Beli coaching disciple. Hollow hire. Good hire for us.
Harbaughs defense? The side with 1 year ever coaching the defensive side of the ball with DBs? The majority of his experience pre-Baltimore was on offense position groups and Special Teams.
