What makes you believe this?

For all the talk that they're already sold on Kyler, I have to believe they want to see him prove it on the field. If he's hurt so bad he can't return, I believe they'd trade him and take a top QB--assuming we get that high of a pick. JMO.

With Caleb Williams’ dad being a distraction, Kyler’s cap hit, & the talent-deficient team, I’m starting to believe the FO will just sit Kyler to secure the top draft spot & then trade for a kings ransom.

That includes risks of course & the last time we seen Kyler it wasn’t a good one, but we have seen Kyler play great ball. This isn’t a Justin Fields situation where Kyler has never been a good passer at all in his career.

This is not going to go well with massive Kyler-critics & Caleb/Drake apologists, but I can totally see that happening.

His "Soon" comments wasn't he'll be back. It was that soon he will start practicing again.

I disagreed with this because i don’t want to watch 15 more weeks of Dobbs and Tune, but the best-case scenario is probably Kyler feeling he’s ready to play and work and the Cards having to hold him back.

I forget the timing now, but I think Kyler has to come off PUP between week 5 and 9 and then gets 2-4 weeks to ramp up before either rejoining the active roster or going on IR.

He can start practicing after Game 4. But he would only go on IR if they activate him and then he doesn't play due to a set back.

Otherwise he just practices while on PUP and they activate him when he's ready to start.

He's going to play. They have said very clearly he's going to play. He should play, no matter what their plans are for him.

You misunderstood what I typed.

I can see them sitting Kyler to secure the #1 pick then trade that #1 pick for a Kings’ ransom instead of drafting the #1 pick with a QB to bring him to a very talent-deficient team.

Oh… where did you get your degree in Kyler translation? Oxford?

I’m guessing he’ll be ready soon, but “soon” means different things to different people. From someone who’s been waiting nine months, six weeks probably feels soon.

He can start practicing after Game 4. But he would only go on IR if they activate him and then he doesn't play due to a set back.

Otherwise he just practices while on PUP and they activate him when he's ready to start.

He can be activated off the PUP anytime between weeks 4 and 6, is my understanding (looked at a bunch of websites but it’s not 100% clear). Then he can practice with the team up to three weeks before needing to join the 53 man roster.

Mine as well, but the risk of bringing him back this year is too great. Keeping him off the field has many benefits. The current makeup of the team says do not put him on the field.

What risk? It’s football. You could keep him out all year and the first play of the season next year he could have a non contact injury on his other knee. The whole shelving him thing literally makes no sense in any universe.

I really only count 2023 as Trevor's 2nd season....his 1st year is a complete mulligan, IMO. What he went through is far worse than anything we've seen a long, long, time.

No way would I just move Murray for one first round pick.

Murray has already shown he is good enough to play outstanding football for stretches. I think a more mature Murray can be even better.

Weird post. Are you saying you know Krang intimately that you feel he doesn't have a life & should find one somewhere? Do they sell those at Walmart or somewhere? I really want to know because I may need one someday. You never know when you need to get a life. Thankfully for Krang he has friends like you so you can let him know when it's time to get one.

We have him under contract, and can use our picks to rebuild around a top tier QB.

If he's so bad he can't return, who the hell is going to trade for him at ~$50M/year for 3 years?!

No way would I just move Murray for one first round pick.

Murray has already shown he is good enough to play outstanding football for stretches. I think a more mature Murray can be even better.

Once again, it's impossible for me to envision a scenario where Murray plays badly enough for some portion of this season that the Cardinals want to get rid of him and eat an enormous amount of dead cap space, yet also well enough that some other team is willing to give up draft capital AND pay him ~$50M per year for 3 years.

So, what, you want to wait until he comes back next year, definitively stick with him, and not pick a QB at the top of the draft. Not going negative here, but if he never regains top form for whatever reason, but is kinda average, we face having missed on getting a top draft pick QB and not having a QBOF. Bad risk for no reason whatsoever. Let the kid play. Sitting him makes no sense if he's ready to play.
