I've had both hips replaced. It is a tough recovery, and major surgery takes a lot out of you

Last Wednesday I had pins, rods, and screws put into my back. They found my back was fractured when they got in there. Most painful surgery ever and this was number 14 major surgery.

I have 4 fused in my neck and now two fused in my back. So 4 back surgeries and 2: neck. Bad motorcycle accident in 1984. Still beating me up.

Thanks for all the well wishes, but I am starting to feel better today. Actually got outside last night for a cigar so I think I'm turning the corner.

Yep on the pain as they have your foot by your ear during the procedure. Those muscles get strained for sure.
Wait, you can do that by getting a new hip? That explains why all of the porn stars are so flexible...

If you're into that kind of stuff watch a hip replacement on YouTube. Pretty interesting. After the bring in the zaw saw and cut your bone out they just drop you leg over the table and your femur (I think) pops right out of the incision so the can pound the metal portion of the bone replacement into place.

I was amazed and was curious how they got that in through that small incision.

I watch medical shows, but that is too graphic for me.

Reminds me of high school when we used to watch the surgery channel while eating dinner. The one I remember most was an eye surgery where you could see through the eye hole of the skin flap!

If you can, get a male physical therapist. The females have no mercy.

Please heal quickly. I guess we are all falling apart.
Ha, no doubt. I think I will finally get to take my walking boot off for good after ankle fusion in March. I still will never walk well and my best hope is to be able to walk for some exercise on a treadmill and walk around almost like normal. It is what it is. We're just part of the Cards IR list :D

I'm sorry to hear that Stout. We may need a IR list for all the forums. I hope you get well soon.
