Here’s my top 2 combos:
1) Sean Payton-he picks his GM. He’s earned that right!

2) GM-Will McClay-ive said it here for several years now & have been touting him all along. He’s the reason the Cowpies have drafted well & acquired solid FAs. He is making the tough decisions in Big D & has been for awhile now. Imo he’s the #1 GM candidate available. It’s time he gets his shot
HC-Kellen Moore-pros: very good schemes & knows how to use his players. Creative. Likes to run the ball as well as throw it. Dad is a Coach. I think he will make an outstanding HC at some point of his young career! Cons-inexperienced

Best candidates are Mike Borgonzi KC Assistant GM and Will McCLay Cowboys. Both are proven winners and would bring in a new culture to the Cards. Bidwill should let them hire the HC.

I cannot recall ever seeing such fanatical loyalty to the franchise @QuebecCard. Ever.

So now I'm curious. How did you become an Arizona Cardinals football fan?

I'm a long-time Cardinals fan and couldn't care less where the franchise is located.

I can create a 'fantasy' FRONT OFFICE, if you'd like, festooned with names of people who, like 99% of posters, know nothing about.

As am I, since my fandom dates back to the mid-seventies. My father, originally from St. Louis, taught me to root for the Cardinals (and I'll never forgive him for this, ha! :) )

But in any event, I think it speaks well of your fandom that you continued to support the Cardinals even after they moved from STL (and Chicago? Do you go back that far?). I appreciate you sticking with the team over all of these years.

I think in this thread we're exploring the idea of what would be the 'optimal' front office (using best available information), and I'll add that during my long tenure on this board @QuebecCard, I've come to appreciate the diversity of opinions expressed in these types of discussions. It would be so dreadfully dull if we all agreed with each other!

Also, while I've found that another poster occasionally needs to be cuffed for an underinformed or not very well thought out opinion, I've also decided the board could do without me consistently expressing contempt, and that if I still chose to do so, it marginalized my presence here.

Anyway, just wanted to share those thoughts with you, and I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Since evaluating GM’s involves actions that “take place under cover of darkness”, I suggest, for every candidate, we develop a “top 10” list of decisions made and why the candidate made them.

Without this input, all we have to go on is shallow information and Lady Luck.

I lean to A-Dub based on the way he carries himself and his background with the team. Barring better info, that’s all I’ve got.

He asked how you became a cardinals fan. A historically poor team from an area to which you seemingly have no connections does seem like an odd choice. He wasn’t questioning your fandom but rather was curious how someone from Quebec ended up choosing the cardinals.

Weird, right? I mean he doesn’t have to tell us, but there was no insidious undertone to the question. We’ve heard lots of stories on ASFN about how posters not from St. Louis or AZ acquired their affliction and they’re usually interesting.

Quentin Harris and Adrian Wilson, Cardinals VPs: Both interviewed for GM jobs last year, and I think there’s a pretty decent chance Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill officially elevates both in a sort of co-general manager setup. For what it’s worth, the two scouted the Peach Bowl together last week while in town for Arizona’s game against the Falcons.

The only way that this would be worse, is that Keim is somehow retained.

Legit NFL franchises booting an entire season for a transitional period after back to back to back second half season collapses is delusional fantasy.
