So this off season I wanted a shooter in general, no one specific. Jones gets Shammet. Jury still out on him. Check mark. I wanted Mcgee specifically as our back up center. Check mark. I wanted Biyambo as the next choice if we could not get McGee. Check mark!

I also wanted everyone we could extend, extended. Well just missed on Ayton, but everyone else is tied up.

Today I heard we are signing Biyambo for the rest of the year! Today is also my wife and I's anniversary. Thank you Suns for our anniversary gift today! :)

Maybe the secret is that you are JJ's little brother, mother, or something!

Suns didn't pick up the option on Jalen Smith so I don't think James Jones is betting 1000%.

Also we have future moves to evaluate such as trades and buyouts to consider.

Belated happy anniversary!

Sounds like your wife is a Suns fan, no?

My wife has been to a few games with me over the years dating back to the Barkley years, but I just can't seem to get her interested in spending hours a few nights a week watching the games on TV. :bang:

And yes, James Jones has been amazing. Getting Chris Paul has been the key, and then filling the roles around him with all these role players, its ridiculous how well he has been doing. I think playing with CP3 has elevated the game of some of these folks that have come on board too.

My wife did not have much interest in sports. Then during games I told her all the stories of each player. Their struggles, triumphs, family news, etc. Once she saw I was watching for more than just witnessing skills, that there were stories behind games and performances, she liked it a lot more. Watching your team is really like a show or story.

Everyone seemed to agree that we needed guard depth and another wing would be nice, but a lot of us were fearful of messing with the best team in the NBA right now and stirring up the chemistry.

We got both and kept the chemistry intact.

Hard to not be happy.

Yes, good moves by Jones at the deadline. They blew it by not picking up Stix option, but at least they recouped some value by moving him for an asset in Craig.

Just as an aside. If we wanted to go get Stix as a FA, we could now. We are no longer restricted in what we can offer him, even as a sign and trade. The rule is that a player that is traded away cannot be resigned as a FA by the team that traded him during the one-year period after he is traded or July 1 after his contract expires--whichever comes first.

We would have to have the cap space to do it though.

Thinking about this since the Craig re-acquisition... James Jones values team fit/chemistry more than most other GMs. Some GMs *cough*McDonough*cough* only see players as individual assets. JJ understands that they are a part of a machine that needs to work. It's refreshing to see after those Ryan McD years.

He’ll be tested in a couple of years after CP3 is gone.

We could look at it like we sent Stix to play in the G league for a year then resign him.
and to be fair we kinda did
