They released Todd Gurley. Just another in a series of bloated RB contracts that go badly.

funny how the perspective on NFL GMs can change so quickly

12 months ago, Les Snead was a genius. Today, not so much.

I would bring him in on a super cheap one year deal and let him battle for snaps with Drake and Edmonds.

No. He has knee issues, and is a shell of himself.

Just because he is a big name does not mean he is any good. It's just like David Johnson.

Wondering if this move will impact Kenyon Drake's eventual price?

I don’t see how it would.... If I was Drake I wouldn’t even bargain with another team just take the 8.7 sitting on the table.

Transition tag price is an average of the top 10 RB contracts. Without Gurley & Freeman (#'s 2 and 5 out of the top 10)...... That number drops quite a bit when they are removed.

This question is tough to answer IMO but maybe someone knows.

It would be dumb for Drake not to consider other teams. Gurley is a perfect example as to why he should entertain offers. The $8.7 is good for one year. A longer term contract with more guaranteed money makes a lot more sense than one year especially if he gets hurt.
