An MRI revealed that Bucs’ DT Vita Vea has a sprained LCL that could sideline him 6-to-8 weeks, per sources. Good part is, Vea already is moving around well, so Bucs not ready to rule him out of opener.

I was really hoping we could get him but sure looks like a blessing we didn't. The bizarre thing to me is not really the helmet it's the foot. For those not paying attention he apparently tried to do "cryotherapy" and stepped into the chamber barefoot. It's REALLY cold in there so he got frostbite on both feet! If you follow that link to one on the foot story you can see the pics of his feet, swollen, blistered with huge chunks of skin peeling off. He's missed most of camp because of the feet. The story says it's the helmet not the feet that are the problem but I don't think that's true I think he's just playing up the helmet angle because he doesn't want to admit how stupid he was to get his feet that badly jacked up.

I expect it will eventually work itself out, one report said the one day he practiced with the new helmet, after they texted him a pic of Aaron Rodgers wearing one because he'd said AR and Brady were being exempted from the rule(they're not), he told teammates he liked the new helmet. and then tried to sneak out there the next day with an old one.

Very bizarre, glad we're not the ones dealing with him

Apparently he took his old helmet and had it spray painted to look like a raiders helmet, roughly. He has tried to sneak onto the field with it, and got caught multiple times.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Now he's filed a grievance against the NFL.

Looking ahead only one rookie quarterback will start in week

#K1.

Mara said Manning is the starter vs. Jones; report Keenum is emerging as a slight favorite to start the season opener. QB competition Flores Fitzpatrick will “probably start” third preseason game.

Chargers S Derwin James is scheduled to undergo foot surgery in North Carolina on Thursday, per source. A screw that James had inserted in his foot as a freshman at Florida State bent last week and doctors determined it’s best to remove it. James is expected back in 3-4 months.

Sucks. One of the best young defenders in the NFL.
