Brett Hundley to Cards

Pretty sure this got lost in the translation but.. DING DING - Hundley and Rosen were both at UCLA, one right after each other. That relationship has to be taken account into when they signed Hundley, right? Or am I grasping for straws...

It's not one thing - it's several.

1. Dumping of Glennon and signing of Hundly. You want your backup QB to run the same offense as your starter - we are moving to a mobile qb system is what this clearly suggests.
2. The Cardinals website openly discusses the idea about picking Murray, as do jurecki and other cardinal employees.
3. The signing of Suggs to 7 million. Not likely if we were going to draft Bosa.
4. Everybody at the combine is convinced Cards are taking Murray.
5. Keim saying for right now Rosen is our QB.

So signing a backup QB is confirmation we are drafting Murray and signing a 37 year old pass rusher to a 1-year deal is proof positive we're not drafting Bosa

Riddle me this: why is SF giving up draft capital to KC and a new contract to Dee Ford if BOSA is going to be there at #2?

We have never been able to draft and develop our own franchise QB. As a season ticket holder since 1988, this has been the most frustrating thing about the Cardinals. I don't trust Keim to make the decision on QB and hope they are letting KK make this decision on QB. The best case scenario is that KK believes Rosen can effectively run his offense. Then, we can draft Bosa or trade the 1st overall pick. If that's not the case and KK thinks Murray is far superior, then we need to draft Murray.

I think signing Hundley is an indicator that we will draft Murray. His skill set, speed and ability to run the ball in college tracks Murray's skills more than Rosen. Rosen never ran the ball in college and had negative total rushing yards.

TJ rightly pointed out that KK hasn't used his QBs to run much at Texas Tech, but maybe he thinks you need to be able to scramble or add another dimension to make the air raid successful in the NFL. If KK didn't care about mobility with the QB, I don't think we would have cut Glennon to get Hundley.

Hundley is closer in skill set to Rosen than he is to Murray.

The best conclusion is that this is a connection between Hundley and Clements

I don't see it that way. In college, Murray ran about 140 times his one full season, and Hundley ran about 160 times per season. Rosen wasn't a running QB.

5 tech lines up heads up with the tackle, he is susceptible to combo blocks by in-line blockers. Because we are a one gap 3-4 scheme, depending on the play, alignment, and assignment he will have to disengage from an OT and take the B or C gap.

A 9 (or 7 depending on the scheme the 4-3 scheme) technique lines up outside of the last in-line blocker and is an edge rusher (additionally, sets the edge on running plays)...

NOT THE SAME THING... J.J. Watt is a "light" 5 tech DE, he is 290, not Bosa's 265...

I know that Vance Joseph has said Bosa can be like Nick Chubb and that its unrealistic to think Cards also won`t use variants of 3-4/4-3 defenses in different situations .You seem to think Bosa is simply a passrusher and I think he is a complete player who can be moved around in a attacking defense which VJ says he will have.Seems VJ said he prefers a attacking defense instead of a read and react style.

Not sure I understand all the Glennon shade. He was nails every time he stepped on the field for us.
Hundley was brought in because we needed a backup quarterback. Keim still remembers his fascination with him from a few years ago, and Clements is here now saying that he can work with him as a backup. So be it.
Doesn't change the fact that of all the possible options the Cardinals have at their disposal, the worst possible decision they could make would be to draft Murray. It's the only losing move in this hard earned position of draft strength.

The system will be an amalgam of KK's college system and NFL concepts brought in by Clements. There is no reason to believe that Rosen can't deliver what's needed.

I do not know what your football background is, but man...I think you need to brush up on the fundamentals:

1. 265-270 is too light for a 5 tech DE. <FULL STOP> He will get destroyed at the point of attack with a guard and a tackle double teaming him.

2. You better hope if we use Bosa at a DE that we are playing one gap, if we play two-gap, that means the expectation of the DE is to engage the OT, and control the gaps to his left and right (B & C)...a two gap NEVER rushes up field...all of Bosa's rushing skill is wasted...I cannot think of a modern NFL team that runs a two gap scheme.

3. Yes, Bosa could play a 7 or 9 tech DE with his hand on the ground...but that is not the base defense.

4. Bosa will be an OLB in our scheme, just like Jones, Suggs, and Reed.

5. Bosa (or any of the OLBs) can be moved inside on obvious pass plays when a nickel or dime package is on the field...But he is an OLB.

I agree, VJ has indicated that we will use an aggressive D and we have some nice pieces to add with Bosa that will give us an unrelenting D, with a ton of depth.

Get a T. Suggs Cardinals jersey, that will be a collectors item as there are probably thousands out there with his name on a Ravens jersey. He will be here only for one year and should some day be in the NFL Hall of Fame.

I think Cards will not be rigid in their defenses.Agree one gap attacking defense is VJ preference.I also think if drafted Bosa will be used as DE or OLB on various schemes.No scheme is set completely in stone and variations are used .Just because a DE is 265 lbs doesn't mean he can't be effective against double teams blocks if the player has very good strength and good technique. I feel you are pigeonholing Bosa and his skills.I know most 3-4 DEs are mostly run stoppers/space eaters lacking good pass rush skills.So if that's what people expect from the DE then someone like Zach Allen from Boston College or another run defense first type.
I just think VJ will creative with his defenses with some various packages.It seems very limiting to be inflexible and not throw some creative player packages at the offense.

We need 300 plus DEs to take on 330-340 lb lineman at the point of attack to effectively run the 3-4
