The Patriots traded a 3rd round pick in 2018 for Trent Brown and a 2018 fifth rounder (a 48-sot move).

Brown went on to start all 19 games at left tackle during a Super Bowl season and the Patriots are now in line to a 2020 3rd round compensatory pick for him.

Supposedly this used to he an issue with the Cardinals. The team wouldn't sign big free agents because they would literally have to take out loans to pay big signing bonuses.
