Lol! Playoffs? Playoffs? We are going 3-13 this year and we are wondering who we are going to hire to assure us playoff victories.
I don't get why so many people on here want to try the Denny Green experience again.
Caldwell/McCarthy are retreads who rode the coat tails of all time greats at QB to good records. Both are viewed by their fanbases as headcoaches who held their teams back. They are both like Ken Whisenhunt.
Please show me anywhere where anyone said we wanted Caldwell here. The point those of us are trying to make is that Caldwell, regardless of your opinion, is a decent coach. His record spells that out. He took one team to the Super Bowl and led another, a perennial loser I might add, to 3 winning seasons in 4 years including 2 after losing the best WR in the league to an early retirement. The guy was a head coach for 7 years and had 5 winning season and yet to some of you he's Ken Whisenhunt who had 2 winning seasons in 8 years as a head coach. Not even close. As I said, you have to go back to the late 60's/early 70's to find anyone who coached the Lions who left with a winning record. That's a list that includes Steve Mariucci, Bobby Ross, Wayne Fontes, and Darryl Rogers, some of whom people would consider coaching legends.I don't get why so many people on here want to try the Denny Green experience again.

Stories are told that Peyton ran those Caldwell Colt teams. Right down to practices, game plans, in game decisions etc. What’d he do after that? You do realize him & Schwartz made the same amount of playoffs & won the same amount of playoff games when they both were HCs, right?
You say he “took his” team to the big dance, but everyone knows he was just along for the ride with Peyton leading the way. Dude went 2-14 without Peyton during his stint in Indy.
I love how you use Cardinals persent or former personnel to boost up non-Cardinals like we’re the benchmark or something.
Sorry but there is a major difference between these two. Manning and Stafford were already stars when Caldwell took over the teams while Rodgers was a 2nd year backup when McCarthy took over the Packers. Farve was the qb. Many feel that McCarthy developed Rodgers.
Rodgers one of the more prominent ones ...Many.
Many also feel that McCarthy has ridden Rodgers coattails for years.

So don't give credit to McCarthy for making Rodgers a star?? Ridiculous, that McCarthy gets no credit from you on developing Rodgers. Well, whatever.
Wait, does that ensure that Keim is not being let go?LaConfora reports that McCarthy was offered H-C and personnel/player control by the Cards and turned it down. Keim is now putting together an interview list.

The Raiders skipped it when they hired Gruden IIRCHow could this be true? This would not satisfy the Rooney rule.
The Raiders skipped it when they hired Gruden IIRC
Does the current coach you are letting go count?
Ok thanks for the info. Didn't know that. Not according to the NFL they didn't. McKenzie, their GM at the time interviewed T Martin.
How could this be true? This would not satisfy the Rooney rule.
1. It's LaConfora's report
2. Unless they've made a 'formal' offer they aren't contravening any rule
3. I'm sure something can be contrived to meet The Rooney rule, which is not designed to preclude a team hiring who they see as the best person for the job(s).
