If you watched the Rams Bear game you saw real passion on the part of the Bears. It makes a huge difference. I don't think we will ever see the passion with Wilks. DJ always seems to look at the TV screen after each of his runs.

It was shocking to hear the guys on the Cards pregame show saying that Chase Edmonds plays with more passion than David Johnson. I’m generally one who doesn’t put much stock in passion with professionals, but that’s a bad look for the org.
they kept praising his vision too

A lot of guys do that to see how the play developed.

When you are consistently asked to do the thing that you do the worst, it is tough to get motivated and emotional. DJ was evaluated as a mediocre inside RB out of college with plus skills in space and plus skills in receiving. He is now being asked to be Lagarrette Blount. That is not utilizing his skillset, it is putting a square peg into a round hole.

It is like being upset at Deone Bucannon that he is not a 235 lb read and react LB. He was never that player and asking him to try to be is just setting him up for failure.

If you think that Patrick Peterson, Chandler Jones, David Johnson, and Larry Fitzgerald are significantly different players than they were in 2016, you are silly. They are pretty much the same guys being utilized in a less intelligent way.

one thing ive noticed about DJ this year -- running with his head down. hard to have vision when you are staring at the grass in front of your feet. when did that happen?

New rb coach wants him to truck people instead of juke them

David Johnson was historically bad this week:

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/quick-reads/2018/week-14-quick-reads

His game against Detroit on Sunday was his worst outing yet. His 15 carries resulted in all of 49 yards (you'll recall that Derrick Henry doubled that on one play) and two first downs. That's nothing, though, compared to his receiving numbers. Johnson amassed eight completions in ten targets, and for all those receptions, he came away with 12 yards and one first down. Three of those catches lost yards, and one of those resulted in a fumble. That's -22 DYAR rushing, -53 DYAR receiving, -75 total. That makes this one of the worst overall running back games we've ever measured, and the worst receiving game for a running back in 26 years.
