No sir was in 2016... the down year in 2017 check my link (second rehab easier)

Wrong. He got hurt against the Eagles in the NFC Title year of 2015.

2016 season was his mulligan.

2017 had no excuse.

No. He blew out the other knee in late 2015.

Then he was below average in 2016 AND 2017... when he was two years removed from the second blowout.

And he’s had other injuries that put him on the DL during that time too with his shoulder at the end of 2016.

Oh OK i see what i did there hahahah

No he had another knee which is what takes the full year to recoup from much of the time.. He's 25 could easily get back to old form IMO

http://www.espn.com/blog/arizona-ca...tyrann-mathieu-calls-second-knee-rehab-easier

so you would be cool with us signing Teddy Bridgewater?

TMat will never be the player he was as a rookie... but he can be better than what he was last season IMO... he was at about 60% Badger last year...if he can get back to 75% Badger he will be fine. the kid has great instincts, he just needs to stay quick enough to capitalize on those instincts occasionally

Does part of me fear he could KVB Part 2? Yeah. But his price tag is just so freaking outrageous that I’m willing to take that risk, especially since we have what looks like an adequate replacement with Buddah.

my guess is...GUESS... that they have Disner focused on structuring a contract that lowers his cap hit but also gives the team easier outs in case he never returns to form.... which of course will probably be offset with guaranteed money

I really dont understand this line of thought? The guy came back from his first knee surgery and was not the same the next season. After a full year to recoup he came back and was in the running for defensive MVP... He blows the other knee and he has a year where he isn't quite the same. That tells me that this year he could be inline to explode again.. He is only 25 flipping years old.... It is very common for player to take a full year to regain the magic.. Guy could be a terror this year...

Soon after he got the brace off after the first injury he was nearly back to his old self.

He went all last season and did not seem to improve at all. He seemed to0 slow to cover slot receivers and in my opinion has lost self confidence. If he can no longer cover the slot, he can no longer be a blue chip player.

I want to be wrong, but I saw no improvement over the course of last year, and quite frankly he was very bad, he did not seem like he wanted to make a tackle, he let the offensive player come to him.

If he does not have the disruptive play making attitude he was nicknamed for any longer, than he is just a slow undersized overpaid safety.

What do we need to clear all this space for? Whose left to sign? Unless they're making room for Luck's contract!!

It is a PR move...you have to have something to offset the Bradford signing. Just like trading for AP was shaking the keys to distract from the bad season. Restructuring Mathieu distracts from a poor plan to upgrade the QB position.

I hope the Mathieu contract is not a PR move.

IMO, the Bradford signing was not horrible if he can stay healthy and the Cardinals draft a QB.

If he can stay healthy...lol. He hasn't played 16 games in a season since 2012, and has only done it twice in his entire career. It is not going to happen.
