If this is true, cross Alex off the list of QBs available to us.

Ok. That means Cousins to either Broncos or Cardinals. Hope it is Cardinals.

Crazy if true. Cousins will probably go to the Browns (highest bidder) after this one.

That's the kind of headline I'd fire a writer over if I were the editor. Or fire the editor over, if I were the owner.

I don't trust trades that go down before the Super Bowl even ends.

Cousins wants to win. I don't think there's a chance in hell he goes to Cleveland.

True. Unless Haslams throw a few Flying Pilot J franchises in addition to $110 million guarantees, Cousins will never board a Cleveland flight.

Cousins wants a monster contract...don't be fooled.

ESPN said:
"Winning is everything, especially at this stage of my career," Cousins said. "I'm going into Year 7. Because I've been franchise-tagged twice, it's not about the money so much. It's about winning. I want to win. This isn't the NBA. You can't just get one player and now you're in the AFC Championship Game or NFC Championship Game. There are other pieces that come into play."

That's from today.

All that said, Ian Rappaport is also reporting this, so I actually am beginning to believe it.

God, I hope the Broncos, Jags, or Jets jump on Cousins before Keim thinks about it. GREAT chance of Baker falling to us if that happens!

Keim is not paying Cousins $26-30 million/year for five years.

Hmm...wonder if that means he'll take a 'discount' to play with a halfway stable franchise. The previous Redskins GM made it sound like Cousins just wanted a massive contract...guess we'll see!

Smith isn't the fit for McCoy anyways. But this means either we overpay for Cousins and kiss HB goodbye to clear up the space to get him, or it means someone above us in the draft does and we have a better chance at a QB in the draft.

He’s a rare breed... a QB in the prime of his career who’s put up big numbers. He’s taking any team who wants him to the bank, not giving them a discount.

I just hope we’re not stupid enough to drive him there.

If he were a betting man, he would just sign a one year deal every year

We paid Palmer 20+ million the past few years, and had him on the books until he retired. Why are people so shocked at the concept we might pay Cousins similar money?

He's not going to make franchise tag money every year.
