I'm all for players making money but it's always seemed curious to me that a player would take the most money when all the money is so large. I know the Players' Association makes them feel they owe this to the other players. However, how hard must it be to take the punishments and injuries when you know your team's going nowhere. I feel for CC who's played hard in slim times and helped build the Cards into a winner. Then he goes back to the bottom. I've got to believe it won't take too many games before he realizes how long the season can be. I just hope he stays healthy. This is the ugly part of the cap.

He left for $. I do not blame him but I no longer care how he does. Completely moved on. If his team sucks, he will still enjoy cashing his checks. No use feeling bad.

Playing for money >>>>>>>> playing for a ring, especially in a sport like football. Calais has a life after football, too. Money is guaranteed, a ring isn't.

I would play for the Jets or Browns as long as I'm getting paid a boatload of $$$.

Calais has 60 million reasons for why he's fine with his decision.

Jacksonville could be a playoff team this year... they have stacked the talent but it depends on their trigger man Bortles, they are going to be a lot better than some seem to think in my opinion :)

I like Calias. A lot. But why the hell wouldn't he take the best deal, especially when he played college in Florida?

I'm a teacher, and I like and respect my district; but, if someone, even a poorly viewed district, offered me 10K more I sure as hell would jump ship.

Jacksonville gave him 30 million guaranteed. He is not going to have any regrets. The Cards were NEVER in the running to re-sign him once they drafted Nkemdiche.

The most frustrating part about if was watching Michael Bennett return to Seattle for $10 mil when he could have easily milked the Jags for $15 mil himself.

Don't sleep on Jacksonville. Doug Marrone is a damn good coach & this team will be in the playoffs very, very soon.

I am with Shane.

Harry's post is great, but in the end the guy is a 10 year vet.

Plus it is just a matter of time, in my opinion, until the Jaguars defense is so good they that it will win games for that organization. There is just too much talent on the defense. Calias can be the vet that brings it together.

We will see.

What does that have to do with anything?

What does 7-8-1 & a Super Bowl favorite have to do with anything? We were a good team last year with bad breaks. We finished top 10 in offense & top 5 in defense. CC was on a very good team & left for money to play on a bad team.

Because you are who your record says you are. Campbell left an aging team who blinked when the lights came on them for a young team that was almost as good.

The Cards had a great defense last year, but the offense was mediocre. That's probably what's going to happen again this season. Defense can't get much better; offense is another year older with no real source of improvement.

I always got the sense that Campbell was going to play out his contract...and it worked out for him just the way he planned it. He was a top name UFA even at the age of 30. I also got the sense that the Cardinals didn't feel Campbell was a guy they were going to throw a lucrative third contract at, nor do I think he will be thought of as a ROF honoree down the road. I think he will be held in the same regard as Karlos Dansby...a good player who helped move the franchise forward, but not one of the elites.
