Heard this on ESPN Radio last night and saw the story this morning. Interesting deal possibly in the works. The way it sounds, it will work like this:

Redskins-Trade Cousins to SF
Cowboys-Trade Romo to Washington
SF-Trade #2 overall pick to Dallas

What picks is unknown but one would have to wonder if it's at least their 1st round pick. I'm not sure the benefits of this for Washington. They trade their young QB and receive an aging injury prone QB in return? Doesn't make sense. Also, is Cousins worth the 2nd overall pick? Seems to me the only winner here would be Dallas.

Makes no damn sense at all. 1) Romo is going to get cut, no need to trade to acquire him 2) As stated, why want Romo when you have a young QB (though I think Cousins is not better than Stanton personally in the long run)... if this is going down, I bet you Romo is not the main bait but somebody else along with Romo for them to trade their young QB :)

Agreed. ESPN Radio was calling this a win, win, win when the only winner here is Dallas. Personally I hope SF does it. They'll never get better with Cousins who IMO when it comes to 49er QB's he's slightly better than Shaun Hill. And, as said, Romo is injury prone so Washington loses out and Dallas ends up with the 2nd overall pick.

My take, rumor started by the Redskins to scare Cousins into agreeing to a decent contract. Who in the hell would want to get traded to the 9ers at this point.

It's literally been years since Romo has played in 5 straight games he has no value in my opinion

Why not just trade Cousins for #2 pick? Why does DAL have to be involved? If I'm SK, I'd offer CP for #2 pick. ARZ could draft Kizer at #13, maybe Garrett drops past CLE and ARZ can snatch him up at #2. Use CP money to solidify OL to protect Kizer ala DAL and Dak Prescott.

Nobody is going to trade the #2 pick for a guy who might play 1 more year.

Rappaport has lost all credibility for suggesting such a ridiculous trade.

Romo has a cap number of $24.7 million. The Boys can recoup $5.1 million by cutting him. But that still leaves them with a massive $19.6 million in dead money. They shouldn't be getting a high first round pick, they should giving up one just to get Romo off the books.

Cousins has a good history with the new Shanahan in town.

Wait...what my Texas friend? Just about anyone is better than Stanton and even though I am not a Cousins fan, I recognize he is a quality NFL starter (top 20). Stanton ins't a quality NFL back-up IMO.

FYI there is a difference between the #2 overall and the Cardinals 2nd round pick. This rumor involves the #2 overall pick from SF. Our second round pick is #45 overall which wouldn't cut it.
