Cardinals place RB Chris Johnson on IR-designated to return. Next game he'd be eligible to play: Super Bowl 50.

#AZCardinals promote RB Kerwynn Williams from PS, signed CB Corey White, and released CB Robert Nelson Jr.

#AZCardinals also signed safety D.J. Swearinger to the PS and released TE Brandon Bostick from the PS.

Completely sucks CJ went down.

I dunno. He was wearing out the last few games. Wasn't producing at the same level. We might have ridden him as far as he could go. What really sucks is the Ellington injury. He and David Johnson have fresh legs and we will need both of them to go the rest of the way.

I read that the IR designated to return means he is out for 6 weeks. So, if we got a first round bye, would that not make him available for the entire playoff run?

I'm stoked I had the foresight to add Andre Ellington in my fantasy league last week and David Johnson during the draft!

I'm sad about CJ23. I think that Arians usually needs some inspiration to come off underperforming veteran RBs — this will serve.

Can't wait to see Kerwynn again, my favorite runner between the tackles because I lose track of him on TV.

True, but the broader impact of a disintegrating run game shouldn't be overlooked.
Over the past several weeks, as our run game went on a steady decline, Palmer has been hurried, hit and beat up more and more... Additionally, because of the total lack of a run game, our offense will likely not be staying on the field as long as we would like, meaning our defense will be out on the field longer...
Be it CJ warring down and now out, or Iupati and Coop hurt, or now Ellington hurt - the bottom line is Palmer, as well as out defense, will likely suffer from a piss-poor run game. I really don't see how this team can do serious damage in the post season without a legit threat of a run game...

If DJ can avoid fumbling, I have a good feeling. Dude is going to be AMPED and who better to take it out on than the dirtiest ****bags in the NFL next week.

Exactly. I like KW. Maybe he is limited but I like what he brings to the table as a RB.

I would love to see CJ come back in the Super Bowl...Give him a chance to rack up more yards and earn a bonus, while leading the Cards to a smashing win!
