I think this kid deserves his own thread. He has been my biggest surpise at Training camp so far. His size, speed and route running skills have impressed me. I think this kid has a very strong chance of earning a spot on this team. Anyone going to camp keep an eye on #80!

Impressive athletically... but I wonder why he's bounced around thus far in his career??

Gonna try and go out to camp on Wednesday. I will for sure be looking to see what is has. The TE position is starting to look very promising now!

Yeah he was an UDFA in 2013 so he hasn't been in the league that long. From what I've read on him, the Eagles were using him as a WR. I think he fits better as a TE where his speed and length will be put to better use against LBs and Safeties. He is still raw at blocking but I love what I have seen from him in the passing game.

Being a converted WR he'd better impress there. He looks thin, Unlikely he'd be used for anything other than a slot type TE.

The official site has just uploaded a video of Wolf rating the stand-out players in Camp. Momah was #1.

This happens every year. Good luck to him, but I'm not going to go crazy over this years newest crush.

Remember when Wolf had Brandon Keith as the best surprise in camp?

HAHAHAHA! I remember this like it was yesterday. I was going to bring it up in another thread where Wolf was going after Cooper's lack of toughness.

Do all team's fan bases get this excited over their 6th, 7th round draft picks and undrafted free agents?

All fans who pay enough attention to know all their draft picks, yeah.

Since the Cards moved training camp to UoP I've been able to make it to several practices over the last couple of years. I've always provided camp reports when I attend.

Two years ago I predicted that UDFA Jaron Brown would make the team and contribute.

Last year I highlighted UDFA Catanzaro as a real threat to beat out Feely.

This year I'm on the Momah band wagon from what I've seen from him so far. I think he makes the team. When I watched him in practice he was going against the 1st team defense. So it's not like he was only having success against a bunch of scrubs who won't be in the NFL 3 weeks from now.

Yeah it will be exciting to see some of these new guys in real action against another team.

I hope to make it out to practice again tomorrow.

flavor of the month.

Been looking at all the posts in this thread and have to say that comments like this and e.g. comparisons with Brandon Keith made me smile.

Smile because it shows how tested we, as Cardinals fans, are. Momah is having a terrific camp and most respond by slamming him and stating that we shouldn't get our hopes up.

Have people not realized that we are not that team anymore? Momah is not needed to be a starter on this team. Why not be happy that a guy, that started as #6 on the depth chart, is playing way better than expected and is pushing for a roster spot?

NFC preseason player grades, Week 1

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...n-player-grades-week-1-ameer-abdullah-dazzles

WEST

Arizona Cardinals: Ifeanyi Momah, TE

GRADE: B
Strengths: It's hard to find 6-7, 255-pound athletes with soft hands and impressive movement skills. That's why the Cardinals are intrigued by Momah's potential as a developmental tight end prospect after signing him as a free agent following the NFL's Veteran Combine. The third-year pro catches the ball well for a big man, exhibiting strong hands and flexibility on a shoestring catch in Saturday's matchup with the Chiefs. Momah's length and athleticism should make him an intriguing chess piece for Cardinals coach Bruce Arians to play with on the perimeter.

Weaknesses: Momah is still a work in progress as a blocker. Despite possessing the strength and power to move defenders off the ball, he struggles with his technique, and the lack of balance prevents him from consistently finishing his blocks on the edge. If he can clean up his footwork and balance, he could be a nightmare to deal with at the point of attack.

What he needs to work on: Momah's blocking prowess must improve for him to clinch a roster spot. If he can be a sticky presence on the edge, Momah could fill the role of the TE2 and enhance the Cardinals' passing game as a big target over the middle of the field.

There will always be exciting practice players in every sport. Guys who can show themselves off during practice, but seem to disappear during games. The phenomenon always intrigued me, going back to high school when guys would show off during practice and wag their mouth constantly that they should be starting. For some reason when they did get into a game they became a different player from what you know of them in practice, while the real game players up their game when the chips are on the line and everything counts.

I always figured he was in from the first game. Are they really going to keep 4 TEs though?
