If Palmer were 100% then our coaching staff would start Palmer. The authors premise is they think it should be otherwise.

My take is it would take much more than the last two games I MO for our coaching staff to agree with that thinking.

The longer this goes and the better Stanton does the more likely it is that the two of them meet up.

My argument is simply that the author is WAY early to that spot and it would take MUCH more positive results to bench a healthy Palmer for Stanton.

There was one attempt to Fitz I think to close the first half where Fitz was alone and surrounded by literally 5 49er defenders.

And the scary part was it was the SIXTH guy that nearly picked it. there were 5 that I think Stanton could see but the SIXTH guy from memory was the LB underneath that he never saw and should have picked it.

To be fair when the ball is in the air defenders run to the ball so impossible to know how many guys were there when he actually threw it, but still complete luck that ball wasn't picked and it would have put them in FG range.

Not impossible if I have the right play in mind.

The outside corner is already breaking on the ball and ended up tipping the pass away. He pump faked to Brown on the screen that the defenders never went went for it.

There was also one right before the end of the half against a 3 deep zone that was almost picked.

Yeah that was the play I meant but the other one you showed pics of was the one I said was tipped up but luckily not to anybody.

Thanks, you can clearly see neither of those balls should have ever been thrown, particularly in FG range.

I'm all in on Stanton, but even for me as soon as Palmer is healthy I'm starting his ass.

Stanton has looked okay...but a lot of that is due to a massive upgrade on offense, including a shiny new left tackle, a badass rookie in Brown and acquisition of Ginn. Palmer has only got to play in this powerful offense 1 game, the first game of the year no less.

If these weapons can make a career backup look serviceable, imagine how Carson is going to look.

Carson Palmer in this offense is Kurt Warner version 2.0.

Kap was closer to throwing a pick 6 than DStanton was.

Yeah but only because Cro pulled himself in front which is why he got penalized on that play.

I know I was pretty buzzed at the game, but I'm pretty certain Cro didn't get penalized on his near pick 6...

There was another one that he dropped when playing zone that he was not flagged for.

Edit:12:18 to go in the 3rd. Jumped the underneath route and dropped a pick 6.

7:11 left in the 2nd was the penalty and good call.

Im okay with coverage throws as long as they dont get picked. ALot of times they are throwing to a spot only the WR can catch it making it a worthwile risk.

Wih Palmer, God love him, there are 2-3 throws a GAME that either are intercepted or are dropped by DBs. Not good. DIdnt see that with Stanton.

Can't wait to see the GameDay thread if Palmer throws a pick against Denver. Lol.

How is the quarterback supposed to operate under those guidelines? It's the process that's important, because you can't control the results.

I just re-watched the game, and Stanton threw 3+ awful balls that should've been intercepted - in particular, almost every time he targeted Fitzgerald. One in the right flat, and two deep to the right side. Strange.

And the deep ball he threw WAY short to John Brown would've been picked if either of the DBs had turned to look for it. Lucky.

SD safeties dropped two clear picks vs Palmer. Both guys make throws they shouldn't.
