Just stupid. Why didn't they just trade Love for him? He won't mesh well with Rubio because Rubio can't shoot and both need the ball in their hands to be effective. What the hell is MIN doing?

What is the most MIN can offer? Can they offer $80M for 5 years?

No, they can't. They can't offer a max contract outright. Only Philly has the room to do it.

Crazy! I'd say it's too far from making any sense to be a legitimate report -- but these are the Timberwolves we're talking about, so who knows.

Wow. Didn't see this coming. If this is true, Bledsoe's Agent is a genius.

Something near 4 years at 63 million I believe.

Uh, don't you have to be under the cap to offer someone a contract? They can do a sigh and a trade, but I am fairly certain they can't offer him a contract or any sort.

Man, it's a shame that the Wolves don't have anything that the Suns would want (except for Wiggins). I was high on Pekovic until I remembered how old he is (28). Bennett, Budinger, and Mo Williams? Getting salaries to match is hard.

As I said before, let's start by removing the protection on their first round draft pick the Suns own.

Minnesota has not made the playoffs for the ten consecutive years they have been in the Northwest division.

What does a team like that need to put fans in some of the seats?

An Eric Bledsoe. It is about revenue. Considering his lack of endurance, they would be taking a chance. But what else can they do beside take a chance?

I hope they can put it together. So he wouldn't be blocking Goran Dragic from fulfilling the same role on the Suns while they, hopefully, look to add another standout player . . . but not at the same position.

Salaries don't have to match all the way since the T-Wolves have a trade expectation and the Suns are under the cap.

Any package Minnesota would offer would almost certainly include Kevin Martin.

I like Dieng. Good defender, rebounder, and has the ability to hit a mid-range jumper. Dieng, remove protection from the pick, and add some fillers.
I am a huge Pek fan, but he has some injury issues.
I liked Shved, but he's gone. Buddinger is intriguing, but I am not sure there is enough room for him and Tucker on the roster. He has some injury issues as well and has another year (player option) left on his contract at $5M.

Thad Young could be an intriguing option.

What a baffling report. They're over the cap so they can't actually offer him anything unless a sign and trade is agreed to. What does Minnesota have (that they'd be willing to part with) that we would want? I am not a fan of Kevin Martin or Pekovic. I suppose with Wiggins, Rubio and a trade acquired Bledsoe, it would put out Zach Lavine.

Also, I am one of the Bledsoe proponents here, IMO he has more all around talent and more potential than anyone on our roster. However, Minnesota getting him on a max puts them over the luxury tax, and thats without Rubio even being extended yet, and without them looking like a playoff team. It seems crazy that they'd be willing to take on that kind of financial burden.

Might the Wolves just be trying to sign Bledsoe to an offer sheet without a sign and trade?

They can't. They're way over the cap already. They'd had to shed over 20 million in payroll to offer Bledsoe a max deal.

And even if they could offer Bledsoe a max deal without a sign and trade it would simply mean the Suns match it.

Well the Suns have been trying to trade him to the Wolves for awhile. If they are over the cap, it would have to be a sign and trade. I can see the Suns getting a third team involved if Rubio is a piece.

Uhh, they wanted Kevin Love, that is clearly out the window. Their stance has not changed, they will match any offer, if he does not get an offer they made a fair one of their own.

Even if their public stance differs from their private one, I highly doubt the Suns are "trying" to send him to the Wolves. They're hardly an ideal trade partner.

The Suns tried to get Bledsoe included in the Love trade at the last minute when they knew Love was a done deal to Cleveland. I think the Suns have continued to try and deal with the Wolves even with Love out of the equation. Apparently the Wolves are the only dance partner for the Suns who are willing to pay Bledsoe's asking price.

Sure, they are not an ideal trade partner, but it sure as hell beats losing him for nothing next summer.

Yeah Suns and Bledsoe were DONE! Suns get some pieces now at least and good riddance, Isiah Thomas and Dragic are a fine back court!

Also when the Suns drafted Ennis, the writing was on the wall.

If all this is true, a sign and a trade must have been in the works for quite awhile since the Wolves cannot absorb a max contract as others have noted.
