I don't think there will be a spot for him in the rotation next year. I would put Hudson, Cahill & Kennedy on the market this offseason and see what offers come in. At least get rid of 2 of them.

Next year's rotation:

Miley
Bauer
Skaggs
Corbin
Whomever doesn't get traded

So our starters' ages will be 25, 22, 21, 23 and ?.

Hudson won't have any trade value until he is fully recovered from TJ surgery and performs well afterward. IIRC, his earliest return month is around July 2013.

I think Kennedy will have better value on the trade market should we decide to do so. Similar to Cahill, for whom we traded 2 years after a stellar year (giving up Parker :bang: ), Kennedy had a near Cy Young season in 2011. He should still be able to bring back at least quality farm talent in return.

The grass isn't always greener.
Neither is the status quo. Has the team underperformed to the point of ending the season in an absolute funk? That is unacceptable!

No matter what happens, the grass will be greener with Gibby gone. Hey, it just didn't work out. After all, stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

When I repeat that quote, it doesn't have a bearing on the team's performance. When the manager carries it out, it sure does.
