And this is new information?

Most non-Steelers fans already knew Ward was a grade A Douche Nozzle.

meh, I wont call him a douche for it, after 10pm I bet 50% of the cars on the road are intoxicated. DUIs are very common, sadly.

Anyone who drives intoxicated is a DOUCHE and should have their license revoke for life if not face criminal charges of attempted murder, and while this requres intent, well if you drink and plan to drive or have not arrainged for other transpottation, you have shown the legal defenition of INTENT. Too many people don't take this seriously enogh and when their child gets pasted by so ***** who makes this decision then they get all high and mighty. Also this is for the DWI which is more serious than the DUI. However, DWI vs DUI may inovle a leve in the blood only, some people react the same either way.....douchebags.

People are being to hard on Hines. After all it was his birthday and was only 2:30 AM. As one coach said if you are out at 2:30am, are a public figure, hanging in a bar you put yourself in a situation where things like this happen. Besides it was Hines wife that was in a fist fight. Seems to me like I see more CB's in fights and troubles than most other positions.

When I was 16 years old I was racing my buddy on Whizzer Motor Bikes. It was 1:30 AM. I was doing over 70mph, had no lights, had no drivers license, had no insurance, had no helmet and hit a car that turned in front of me broadside. He could not see me. I was a blur. I flew across the cars top about 30 yards down a paved road and ended up with only scrapes. I should be dead. I got so many tickets I forgot how many. The car had its rear finder knocked off. My bike was destroyed.

The moral do not drive in the dark without lights and after dark and also have some everyday common sense. I was not drinking because no one would sell me booze. The car driver did not have his license with him but knew the police officer. I might have made a good CB in those days.

What is your definition of intoxcated? Was Ward at this level? Are you saying you have never once in your life driven after 2 beers? I dont believe that.

Maybe he was drunk too but to say anyone who has a beer or two and drives is a douche is a l ittle much and hypocritical.

I agree and I dont know how drunk he was but 90% of everyone has done it to some degree, likely including you.

Some people are hammered off two beers, I have 0 effect yet two beers is DUI.

.

Not hypocritical, diffenence between DUI and DWI. Which was he not sure, but he still got pulled over which means he did something to cathc the eye of PD. Thus impaired enough....AKA Douchebag.

He blew a .128 on the portable breath test. (And refused further tests.)

Legal limit in Georgia is .08.

So? It's okay if everyone is doing it? Give me a break. The guy is a douche. He showed no concern for his own life or anyone else on the road that night.

There is no excuse for drinking and driving. None.

DORAVILLE: Cops say Hines Ward couldn't recite alphabet

http://www.11alive.com/news/article/197428/3/DORAVILLE-Cops-say-Hines-Ward-couldnt-recite-alphabet

NFL receiver and former UGA football standout Hines Ward smelled of alcohol, had a hard time keeping his balance and had trouble reciting the alphabet during field sobriety tests. Those are claims by the officer who arrested him in a DeKalb County police incident report released Monday.

According to the report, officer R. Catalano said "While speaking with him, I smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming off his person and noticed his eyes were blood shot and glassy."

Catalano wrote that Ward swayed back and forth and was getting agitated while conducting the field sobriety tests. "I asked him to recite the alphabet from D to X which he mixed up letters and omitted letters."

Ward was stopped early Saturday on Buford Highway by a MARTA police officer who said he witnessed Ward fail to maintain lane and at one point strike a curb. Because the MARTA officer pulled the gray Astin Martin Ward was driving over in DeKalb County, he called a DeKalb officer.
