If the Cardinals made the selection, I think it's obvious they feel that he has the ability to get bigger w/o sacrificing speed. We use our WILL in a similar vein to a 4-3 WILL, so it's not that big of a stretch in terms of fit. Washington was the best LB available that could be utilized like they used to use Dansby.

Yup, I'm pissed too. Hopefully this works, but I am really frightened here. The kid is small, small, small. I cannot believe we traded a 3rd rounder for him. The team must see something they really like so i am going to just have faith in Whiz for the moment.

A lot of people were happy to see Karlos go but I said he was going to take two pickups to replace. One for the run, one for pass coverage that will allow Wilson to continue to play like a LB half the time. Washington is a guy who can maybe play coverage like Dansby. That has to be why they were so high on him, IMHO.

Yeah, I know he was likely the best of the rest, but FWIW, Dansby was 6'4 and 255 with ridiculous range, good instincts and long arms. Washington is smaller, slower, far less of a playmaker and is lacking instinctually from what I've seen. I liked Sean Lee, but what do I know? OK, he's a Cardinal now, so I'm done talking smack until he plays a bit------GO DW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marginal to play inside; more likely replaces Okeafor. He's good in pass coverage and a solid tackler. Hasn't shown much ability to rush the passer. I like the player, but the price was too high and the need to marginally filled.

When you lose a player like Dansby with NOTHING on the roster even close to suitable to replace him, this is exactly the sort of thing that will happen. Ideally, Dansby's replacement should've been drafted in 2008 or 2009 and groomed. Just like we did with Campbell and Antonio Smith.

This ain't your Fathers Cardinals. The organization saw a player they wanted and they made sure they got him.

It's a pro-active move and I like it. You can look back at every draft in the history of the NFL and see players that were drafted at 42 and should have been the 26th and you will see players that were drafted 1st that should NEVER have been drafted.

The Cards see Washington as a guy that fits THEIR scheme and what they are trying to do. I can live with that. Bottom line is we got TWO quality defensive players and I am happy with that. I wouldn't mind if they draft another LB like Spikes in the 3rd.

We got absolutely OWNED in this trade.... According to the trade value chart we should have recieved a 4th round pick AT THE VERY LEAST....

Wow....just wow, to give up a 3rd to move up 10 spots in the second...

Until Graves proves otherwise I do not want the Cardinals ever doing another draft day trade, we always get the short end of the stick.

How will he ever "prove otherwise" if we stop draft day trades? :D

I agree. We do better sitting back and being patient. The next time anyone suggests we trade up..... :mulli:

Sean Lee wouldn't have been there, we can stop freaking out over that possibility now.

yup. love the Williams pick... not sold on this pick... or having to give up a 3rd to get him. Him, Paris Lennon and a breaking down Gerald Hayes will spell doom for our D I Fear. Just can't be that desolate at the second level.

crap, put Dansby on this D and with the pick-ups they made they could have been dominant... or at least very good.
