Beanie Wells looking forward to next year

We shall certainly see. Everybody kept saying the same thing this year from about week 2 on. But it didn't happen.

I think it did, or at least showed a trend towards it.

Last 5 games of the season plus playoffs -

Hightower - 43 carries - 6.14 carries per game
Wells - 87 carries - 12.64 carries per game

Wells was getting more then double the Carries that Timmy was getting. I could easily see the same ratio when we start running the ball more often about 30 times a game. 20 times to Wells, and 10 to Timmy.

Good breakdown Joe. Thats what I think we are more likey to see IMO. Rather than a 75-25 split.

I don't think the coaching staff trusts rookies. I think Rashad Johnson is a perfect example of this. He will be a fine player. But the staff would rather put a vetran who is more consistant, even at a slightly lower level, than a rookie who has huge peaks and valleys in their production.

Good point, Chris. Whiz seems to involve the rookies a little sooner than Davis. Next year Davis will need to bring the youth along a little more quickly.

Things will be bad if teams stack the line and ML can't make them pay. That said beanie may still bust off some good runs with the box stacked. We'll see. But count me one as being very excited to see him next year.

Do you think that with Larry Fitzgerald on the field teams will risk taking a safety off him to stack the box?

I'm just glad teams can no longer stop our run game with only 6 guys in the box.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him *hopefully* get a significant amount of carries next season. And with KW no longer running the offense, it's basically a given.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Do you know how many rookie secondary players look lost in year 1? DRC has really given a lot of people unrealistic expectations for first year secondary players.

Please explain how Whiz turned around Branch. He has likely never worked with him once on the field. Give credit where credit is due: Ron Aiken, Billy Davis and Branch.

With Timmy on this team and how much coach Whiz likes him I'm betting his highest ceiling will be about 1100 yards unless Timmy gets hurt. Still really good though.

Agreed.

Whiz's system will alway incoroporate 2 backs, and I would expect for LSH to be used more as well.

I think the best term I heard was "featured back", and that is what I expect to see out of Wells. He will be featured, and the work horse, but not like a Tomlinson, or Edge type.

Hightower and LSH will be used as well to maximize the RB core as a whole
