It is hard to believe we will really get to the point where next year is uncapped. I think it would disrupt the ballance for years to come. That said if it did happen it might open the door for a Boldin trade. I would imagine if you could overspend you would do it on a proven player verses middle rounders.

Playoff teams will be restricted on getting FA Players.

Restrictions on playoff teams. The eight teams that make the divisional playoffs will have restrictions placed upon them in unrestricted free agency. They will be able to only sign free agents in accordance to the number of players they lose. The four teams that lose in the Divisional rounds will have some additional flexibility. They may sign one player with a salary of $4.925 million or higher, as well as any number of free agents with a first year salary under $3.275 million and an increase of no more than 30 percent in the subsequent years. This will prevent the competitive teams from dominating the open market year in and year out.

I hate the thought of no salary cap. I don't watch baseball anymore for the same reason. I don't know. I am not sure I will appreciate football without the fairness of the cap.

I actually think it should benefit the Cardinals. Let's say we make it to the NFC title game, this year's free agent class is not that impressive to me. Since there is no cap wouldn't ARZ theoretically be able to lock up Rolle, Dansby, Dockett and Boldin (if he decides he wants to be here). Technically we should be able to sign our own guys but wouldn't be able to sign outside FA's. The question is would Bidwill be willing to pony up the dough to keep these guys. We lock up these guys, get 2 OLB/DE's to replace Okeafor and Berry, an OT, C, and depth at other positions through the draft without having to worry about a cap we can set up or team for success through the long haul.

Let's hope DAL & PHI make the playoffs because that slimeball Jerry Jones will be limited to what he spends in the offseason and PHI doesn't need to get any better.

I for one think the uncapped year could be a blessing for the Cards. Will ownership step up and simply spend money to keep Rolle & Lienart. Pay their bonuses that come due this year even if you can't renegotiate their contracts. How about giving Q a big time roster bonus and possible extend his contract a couple more years. Karlos will be a FA so I'm not sure if we can give him a crazy high roster bonus and a long term contract. Can we Tag him again?

It's only money :)

I didn't see this before I posted, we are on the same page. I forgot about Dockett, I'm an idiot, so yes get him taken care of as well.

Boldin is upset with the Cards because of money. His frustration with the organization will do a 180 degree turn if the Bidwills simply throw a bunch of money at him. Make it a 25 million dollar roster bonus and extend his contract for 5 more years.

I mean think about this; Breaston, CC, Branch, Watson, DRC, THT all could be locked up for years to come.

Would you spend that amount of coin on an aging Boldin when you have such needs on the team at linebacker and needing free agents so badly at that spot and OLT also? I don't see Graves or Billy giving Q the money when we need to spend so much on players we don't have yet.Okeafor and Dansby are probably gone.Berry is also probably too old for a rotational position too.(not sure yet)Paper thin is being kind when talking about our linebacker position. How do we run the 3-4 with what we have?

We know nothing about Cody Brown yet and he starts all over next season.May even take him longer to get fully healthy again too_Our restricted FA's can be place on 1st and 3rd round picks.I doubt we lose any.Dockett can also wait till we aquire a few new lead dog Linebackers also.Dansby is a rare athlete that will be hard to replace and have someone play as well as him in his spot next season right off the bat.Against the run, sideline to sideline and against the pass.I think we could franchise him for a 3rd and last time for a fortune though and may be dragged into it like Peppers was this last year.

I don't know contracts, but to me Boldin is about a 5-6 million a year wr right now....and had he been quiet all this time I would have sweetened it a bit....

Technically we would be able to keep Dansby because there would be no cap for us, the 8 teams that make the playoffs cannot sign him so teams like DAL cannot overpay him, his staying depends if Bidwill wants to keep him, his cap figure will not count. There are plenty of OLB's in this draft, we could get a couple to replace or aging guys. Our FA's should be top priority as they are probably the best at their positions on the market and know our system.

Would you spend that amount of coin on an aging Boldin It's only money, it isn't my money :D and this is about an uncapped year so when you have such needs on the team at linebacker and needing free agents so badly at that spot and OLT also? Go ahead and get the other FA's because it's an uncapped year.I don't see Graves or Billy giving Q the money when we need to spend so much on players we don't have yet.See my previous comments.Okeafor and Dansby are probably gone.Berry is also probably too old for a rotational position too.(not sure yet)Paper thin is being kind when talking about our linebacker position. How do we run the 3-4 with what we have?Good point, throw money at Okeafor as well, he's good for another year. So we just need to replace Berry because we tagged Dansby.

Point is that this is about an uncapped year. Make crazy high roster bonuses to players that we want to keep. It won't impact our CAP down the road because we paid them a roster bonus during an uncapped year. I don't know that the Bidwills will spend the dough but Snyder would. Difference being that all these players are known commodities for the Cards and Snyder just likes to make it rain.
