This is hilarious...

Team officials told CBS Sports they did not want Gannon to attend Saturday's television production meetings in advance of Sunday's Raiders-Broncos game, The Chronicle has learned, citing his public criticism of the organization in recent years.

"Rich Gannon is not welcome here," Raiders executive John Herrera said Friday when asked about the ban. "We told CBS we did not want him in our building, we did not want him to be part of our production meeting, and that's where it sits."

And they added this...
Herrera said. "He seems to be a guy who can't get over the fact that he played the worst Super Bowl game in the history of the game and he wants to blame everybody but himself.

"I guess it's our fault he threw five interceptions."

Whole article is here... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/09/25/SP0L19ST9M.DTL&tsp=1

:biglaugh:

What a complete joke of an organization.

Wow. You usually hear of player blasting organizations. Certainly not the other way around.

They were talking about this on a roundtable show that comes on before the Giants baseball game tonight. They all agreed on 2 things, one Gannon is VERY bitter about the Raider experience, and two, the Raiders organization is completely clueless.

It's not like Gannon is going to attend practice and then tip off the other team to Raiders plays or something.

Vintage Al Davis at his worst.

Both sides are idiots IMO. What that SB really showed is what a pathetic owner Al Davis was to get rid of Gruden and what a better coach he was than Bill Callahan.

Let's put the shoe on a different foot. What if Boomer Esiason was going to be calling a Cards game (I believe he still does the MNF games on radio with Marv Albert) and the Cards did the same thing to him? Would that make the Cards a joke of an organization? Because, honestly, I can see that happening, due to all of the bitterness Boomer has had and the things he's said about the Cards and the Bidwill's in public.

We don't know the whole story but I know I don't let people whom I don't like in my house.

To be fair what it really showed is that Gruden knew his old team so well he essentially knew what was coming. After that game the local media got several Raiders players off the record to outright say the Bucs defense knew the plays, after awhile they were even telling the coaches look they're calling out what the play is after we line up because they know our formations.

What it really showed was that the matchup between an ex coach and his former team can really favor the ex coach if the ex team is essentially running the same offense.

Recycling your predecessors playbook, formations etc.. is rarely a good idea lol.
