ESPN this morning they said Bartelstein says he will visit 2 teams, 49ers and one other. Said they have discussed contract parameters, they're not bluffing to increase the Cards offer. On principle alone they may reject any last minute attempt by Arizona to match Kurt, and "they want to find a place where Kurt will be appreciated."

At this point I'm ready to tell Kurt don't let the door hit you in the butt and be done with it. If the current contract offer doesn't indicate to him that the Cards appreciate him then forget it. Quit talking about moral ground and principle and just admit you're trying to get more money because you feel like you lost several big payday years sitting behind Eli manning and Matt Leinart, and now you want the Cards to give you "Back pay."

Exactly he's a 38 year old baby and I for one am fed up. Take the money and sign I will happily welcome you back as a Card, but continue to throw a tantrum and I don't want you in Arizona.

Kurt has no leg to stand on here, he wasn't here during the dark years where players were routinely mistreated by management. 2 of the 3 years here have been 500 or better, he doesn't get to play the Cards management sucks card because Cards management has been more than fair to Kurt Warner.

the Cards gave him the chance to compete and he ran with it, now he wants some insane contract to show we appreciate him, get lost Kurt.

I dont understand Kurt's hurt feelings in this.. I mean, I understand the reasons given, but I dont understand how the conclusion came to feel hurt by them.. Whats even more incredible is that its Kurt frickin Warner acting like this..

Ive never seen a bigger group of babies on a football team than this team.. It has even infected Warner.. This is all just mind boggling..

I just can't stomach athletes that refuse to be honest and admit it's about the money. if you want more money admit it, don't admit on tv that you want to be paid money to makeup for past seasons and then claim you haven't signed because you don't feel appreciated and on principle alone you can't sign. It's not principle, it's CASH.

I don't care how religious Kurt is or what a great guy he is off the field and by all accounts he is a GREAT guy off the field, right now he's being like any other greedy athlete. the economy is in the crapper, people are being laid off at record rates and Warner is crying that the Cards current offer doesn't show they appreciate him?

Same stuff we read yesterday. Just from the niners perspective. Cut and pasted to omit stuff to look more favorable to niner fans reading it.

No new news here.

Tim Kawakami in the SJ Mercury News this morning wrote this is a very weird deal. Makes no sense based on what the 49ers say they want to be a team. He figures they're simply trying to screw with the Cardinals either by driving up the cost or possibly driving a wall between the Cards and Warner so he winds up going somewhere else hurting the cards.

2 live Stews on ESPN 2 with Bayless all agreed, Warner doesn't want to play in Sf he's using them for leverage and the 49ers are just trying to mess with the Cards. he's taking a risk the Cards will get fed up and just say bite me Kurt go play somewhere else.

If he signs with us you won't hear me complain, but if he leaves at this point I don't care, he's lost the right to talk about being different, being special, being an atypical athlete he's proven he's not any of those things.

You know, Kurt, pride is one of the seven deadly sins just like greed. You think you're the best in the business and the Cards should have just given you what you wanted from the get-go. Since they aren't willing to simply cave in, your poor wittle pwide got huwt, and now you want to whine and cry and take your ball and go home. Well, as Curly Bill said when Wyatt Earp's brother was killed: 'Well, bye.'

Why to grown men who play a violent game being paid millions of dollars always talk about "feelings"?

He says he wants to be compensated as a 'top" quarterback. If the contract numbers are correct he will be top 5. I don't want to hear about Cassel. Sure he had a great year but New England was protecting themselves. The proof to that pudding will be his Kansas City years. Get serious get the running game going and build up the defense. We can do that this year! If we solidify this team if Leinert can't do it we will get someone who can. I guess I really wanted to believe that Warner was the guy that he said he was. I guess not. Take the money and solidify this team. Don't let Kurt hold us hostage!

LOL. His feelings are hurt over money. What a jackass. To his credit, the bigger moron is his bush league agent who is acting like this is his first negotiation. We'll see what happens. I hope my employer offers me a similar, proportional pay rate, as disrespect.

I played basketball with Kurt Warner at the YMCA on Shea this past summer, and he never passed me the ball.

Screw him.

Get the F over it Kurt!
Even better get the F out of AZ Kurt and take your fumbles with you to SF. How come these guys talk sweet about this organization and then have their agents trash this team?

Best post in this thread. Thanks for keeping things light around here.

I won't resent Warner if he leaves. We paid him well and he played well. If he leaves us for more money elsewhere, that's the choice most pro athletes make.

.... and last I checked, Kurt isn't walking out with Fitz, Q and Breaston...
